  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: 2940 problem; Sabaot Land Defence Force (SLDF) as a sabaot problem, and lately looking at Migingo as a Luo problem. We are even looking at Mau as a Kalenjin problem. These are issues that we must speak up against and speak as Kenyans and not as members of ODM or PNU or this tribe or that. AMANI Forum brings together all Members of Parliament. It is the only forum through which we can speak and not be looked at as Kikuyu, Luo or a Kalenjin or an ODM or PNU Member. It is a forum that we must all support ... view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: After the post-election violence not much has been done towards healing and reconciliation of this nation. Indeed, there were a few visits made by His Excellency the President, the Prime Minister and the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs. They visited Eldoret. They also visited Cherangani, but after wards we stopped that process of healing when we were supposed to go to the villages to speak to the people such as the IDPs and those that were afflicted. We stopped doing this somewhere along the way. Indeed, we came back to this House and made some legislation. We dealt with ... view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I do remember at the height of the post- election violence we did gather a group of Members of Parliament who went across this nation. We went to Nyanza, Western and Rift Valley Provinces and the impact was there. But along the way, that process stopped. If through this forum we could reactivate that forum, we could, indeed, continue the healing process that needs to be done. We do recall that when there were burials of the victims of the Kiambaa Church, indeed, not all Kenyans were represented there. You could tell that the healing has ... view

  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: 2941 and move forward. We can overcome the despair and bitterness that he and many victims of the post-election violence went through and move forward. We believe that through AMANI Forum we could go out there, meet him, his family and other affected families and, indeed, encourage Kenya to start moving forward. view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I beg to support this very important Motion. view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I also beg to support this Motion. The task at hand is very important for the nation. It is incomplete. More time is required. We support that this Committee be allocated more time. view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I beg to support. view
  • 19 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, out of the eight ADC farms, how many were in Trans Nzoia District? Who were the beneficiaries of the ADC farms allocated in Trans Nzoia District? view
  • 19 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. They say that where there is a will there is a way. On the issue of Pan African Paper Mills, could the Minister confirm whether, indeed, the Government is willing to re-open the factory? The Prime Minister visited Webuye and promised that, that factory would be re-opened. The President also visited Webuye and promised that, that factory would be re-opened by 1st June, 2009. We are approaching September and the factory is still closed. Webuye Town is “dying” now because Pan African Paper Mills is Webuye and Webuye is Pan African Paper Mills. Could ... view
