  • 20 Sep 2018 in National Assembly: I stand guided, Hon. Speaker. The NG-CDF touches the common mwananchi. Therefore, I do not support the reduction on the NG- CDF. I do not support the reduction of the Affirmative Action Fund. I do not also support the reduction of the Parliamentary budget because that is where I belong. We would rather reduce spending on Government departments and not Parliament. We have seen a lot of mismanagement of Government resources. Pursuant to Standing Order No. 44, I wish to make a Statement regarding the road accident which involved a truck and a school bus that was transporting pupils of St. Gabriel Academy in Mwingi Central Constituency, Kitui County on Saturday, 4th August 2018. view
  • 7 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: The pupils were returning from a trip in Mombasa when their bus collided with a truck at Kanginga bridge, about 1km from Mwingi Town on Thika-Garissa Road at around 10 p.m. and not 11 p.m. I was at the scene of the accident. Eight pupils died on the spot. Two others succumbed to injuries on their way to hospital while one died in the hospital. In total, 10 pupils died. Four pupils were referred to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for specialised treatment. A total of 26 pupils were injured in the accident and treated at Mwingi Level 4 Hospital. I ... view
