  • 26 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I want to appreciate the Chairlady for the good report. However, I also want to raise my concerns. The concerns that my colleagues have raised are similar to mine. This is because they do not involve us in anything. Whenever they want to dig a water pan, drill a borehole or construct check dams, they should involve us so that we can tell them where they are supposed to put these facilities. We have many boreholes which are not working now. These boreholes have no water and the same thing applies to check dams. They hold ... view

  • 25 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, pursuant to the Standing Order No.44(2)(c), I wish to request for a Statement from the Leader of Majority Party regarding the rampant insecurity in the country, especially in Marigat District of Baringo South Constituency. Cattle rustling continues to be a serious security threat in the country causing loss of lives, livestock and properties worth millions of shillings. This affects the economy of this country. In Marigat District in particular, it appears that cattle rustlers suspected to be from Baringo East District have been causing havoc leading to loss of many lives and theft of stock. Regrettably, the political ... view
  • 25 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, it would be okay but we will not be here in two weeks’ time. Therefore, I would prefer that he brings the Statement this coming Thursday. Nevertheless, it is okay. view
  • 27 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I also want to support what hon. Millie has proposed. I want to use the same word the Member for Suba is avoiding to say, people are now digital. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 27 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I also want to support this Bill, bearing in mind the fact that this country’s security is paramount, especially to my constituents. I am always in the pages of newspapers championing about security in my constituency. Today I decided to sit here until debate on this Bill is concluded. I am ready to sit here up to the time this Bill will be passed. It is long overdue. We have wasted a lot of time. We want our police offices to be liberal and do their work. Most of the time, the hands of police ... view
  • 26 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I request if you could reduce the minutes so that we can catch up. That is because this Bill is “hot” and we all want to contribute. view
  • 26 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you so much, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I have waited for long since 9.00 a.m. I was here very early in order to contribute to this Motion. I want to take this opportunity to thank hon. Lelelit for bringing this Bill at the right time. I come from a district and constituency which was number one in this country, but it is unfortunate that today I can attest to the fact that--- I was in the constituency on Monday. I saw the sufferings of the people. These people cannot access clean water. They brought me water which was infested ... view
  • 26 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: possible, it should go down to the locations that are marginalised and not only the constituencies. Some of the places in those constituencies are not bad but I want to say that our voters cannot access clean water and roads. Somebody said that Baringo has tarmacked roads. I want to ask this House to visit my constituency. They will be surprised not to see even an inch of tarmac road. view
  • 26 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, it is the only constituency where children still go to school using canoes. It is the only constituency that suffers from floods during the dry season like now. There is no rain but there are floods occasioned by Lake Baringo. This Equalisation Fund should come like yesterday. view
