Those who were previously squatting in various parts were settled by the Government in Mochongoi Settlement Scheme in 1988. However, to date, these people have not received any ownership document to their land. In addition, the settlement scheme has not been gazetted to allow for this required sub-division. Thank you hon. Speaker, Sir. Just before we proceeded into recess, I had sought a Statement from the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources. The people of Baringo South, Lakes Baringo and Bogoria are expanding their territories. This has now affected their environment; six schools are now closed and 1000 families are out in the cold. The Committee has not responded to my request and I do not know what is going on; these people are suffering and I am still expecting to hear from the Committee.
