  • 17 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I had interjected to contribute on the issue of relief food. view
  • 17 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I wish to seek clarification. We have not had rainfall in the country this year even in the highlands where we normally receive rainfall. The places are dry and we want to find out what the Government is doing. The Government should find alternative ways of helping the people of Kenya. view
  • 1 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. On 25th February this year you can recall me reading a petition from the people of Mukutani Division and so far they have not been called to appear before any committee. They were petitioning the Government over the insecurity that has been rampant in that place. To date, these people have not been called to face the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security. Their woes have not been heard. view
  • 1 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I do not think we were invited. I do not have any notification with me. But if they did and they did not tell us, then it was not the problem of petitioners and me. But even if they come--- view

In the same two weeks, houses of the same residents were torched. Last week, two people were killed and their livestock taken away. The Speaker read out the petition and forwarded it to the Departmental Committee on Security and National Administration but to-date, no reply has been received from the Committee. view
  • 30 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I really concur with the Chairman but three months is too long a period. The people of Mochongoi have waited for a very long time. view
  • 30 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I agree with the Chairman on what he has said about the settlement scheme and the de-gazettement. The people who are living in Mochongoi are about 30,000. Evicting them from that land will disarm them. I want to thank the Committee for the good work that they have done. Cases of double allocation are minimal. The settlers who are living in Mochongoi paid for that land. We paid the SFT 100 per cent. We agreed that if the Government settles those people and issues title deeds to them, they can do much in that area. Thank you very ... view
