  • 22 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I recall last year, the Deputy Prime Minister, who was the Minister in the same Ministry until the other day, gave a list of those markets that had stalled. It is not only these two markets. There is a market in Kiharu Constituency which stalled and he read it out here. This does not even require the Minister to answer only these two Questions. I request that a report or record of what the former Minister gave be laid on the Table, because none of those markets that he referred to ... view
  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. If you listened to the Assistant Minister very carefully, you will realise that he has no concern for these people. This was in 2009, and we are now in 2012 and yet these Kenyans do not know their fate as to whether they will have their title deeds revoked or not. Why can the Assistant Minister and the Government not decide to relocate these Kenyans instead of having them wait for all these years and keep on saying that, that is a water catchment area? view
  • 16 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has made an attempt to answer this Question. We know the cases of people being murdered all over the country are always discussed in this Parliament. I still have a similar case with the Ministry having not given a report of three of my constituents who were murdered a year ago. Whether this fellow is described by the Assistant Minister as a criminal or not, he is a Kenyan citizen who need to be protected. It is the responsibility of this Government to protect Kenyans and their property. His answer shows that ... view
  • 16 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. The children could have walked to Kenya. view
  • 15 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, while I appreciate the answer given by the Assistant Minister, he has not indicated the timeframe within which this will happen. Due to the long rains, the Assistant Minister is aware that very many roads all over the country have been damaged and require immediate action. What programme has the Ministry drawn up to repair the major roads in the country that have been damaged by the heavy rains? view
  • 9 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, while Mr. Njoka met his death while drinking, drinking is not prohibited. What is disturbing are the statements that have been given. Over the weekend, one of the Ministers was quoted saying that grenades and bullets are all over the market. Could the Assistant Minister confirm that the Government is unable to control the sale of illegal ammunitions in our society? view
  • 2 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Standing Orders are very clear. Standing Order No.46 states that failure to ask or answer a question shall be disorderly conduct. How do you deal with the Ministers who are not here to answer Questions? view
  • 2 May 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Listening to the Assistant Minister while answering part “c” of the Question, he stated that the Ministry has established some centres to cater for street children. But surprisingly, the number of street children in Nairobi has increased very much that if you visit a place like Westlands roundabout, on your way to Chiromo, you will find families in the streets in the morning and in the evening. Could the Assistant Minister indicate specifically where these centres are and why these street families have not been taken to those centres in Nairobi? view
  • 25 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the list given by the Assistant Minister only indicates what the Ministry may be putting up. We have other cultural centres that have been in existence and he has not indicated whether he is taking care of them. In particular, I am referring to one of the oldest centres in Mukurwe wa Nyagathanga in Kiharu Constituency. Could he tell this House whether he has considered other centres and funded them to make them more approachable and attractive to cultural groups within our country? view
  • 19 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to support the Motion. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, during the Financial Year 2010, the Ministry of Education had promised and agreed that they would take on early childhood development. That is the basis of our education. We discussed this in our Committee and agreed that the Ministry was going to provide funds for early childhood development, but nothing has been done about it. view
