  • 19 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I wish to ask the following Question to the Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection: (i) What measures has the Ministry put in place to ensure that Kenyans seeking employment in the Middle East do so only through licensed and registered recruiting agencies approved by the Ministry of Labour? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain the recent claims of abuse of migrant workers in the Middle East leading to loss of lives during the COVID-19 pandemic period? (iii) What is the status of implementation of the Bilateral Labour Agreements between the Government of Kenya ... view

  • 5 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: A birth certificate is very important to our children, the way Hon. (Ms.) Mary Njoroge has put it. I want to differ with the Member who has just spoken, that this is a small thing that you can just wake up and get even tomorrow. It is not easy. It is just a small thing, but it is not easy to get it because we have some regulations. When you go to ask for a birth certificate, you can see someone asking you where you gave birth to the child and where the father or the guardian of the kid ... view
  • 5 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: It is not true that it is very easy to get a death certificate. Recently, when my father passed on, they asked me whether he passed on at home or in hospital. So, it was a matter of procedure that I went to the chief, so that he or she could give me the letter, so that I could take it to get the death certificate. They are also talking about the Huduma Centres. Yes, the Huduma Centres came in 2019, but they are not effective. When people lose their ID cards, they go there for replacement. It is not ... view
  • 5 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: with Hon. (Ms.) Mary Njoroge that we can have the database centres. When it comes to the challenges that we are facing in our areas, everything is being directed to the chiefs or assistant chiefs. When it comes to the chief or the assistant chief, you will see that it can take even six months before somebody gets a birth certificate. Suppose that a person is a candidate, he or she will miss out on the examination. I support this Motion and urge Members to support it. I thank you. view
  • 17 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Asante, Mhe.
  • 30 Jul 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. As you earlier ruled, it is better for the Chairperson to be calling us to the Committee because we have a lot of information and that is why we have raised such questions. So, for now, I do not want to comment on it because I was not invited and I do not have any other communication apart from what I heard from the Chairperson here. If you can give me time so that I talk to her, I would appreciate. The people of Trans Nzoia County are facing a lot of problems as a result ... view
