  • 22 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to commend this Assistant Minister because he listened and paid a visit to Ndaragwa and saw the pathetic state of roads in that area. The roads that he saw were designed but to date, none of them has been advertized while others have jumped the queue. Can the Assistant Minister tell us why that happens in the Ministry? view
  • 22 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Local Government:- (a) when the Ministry will effect the 110 kg bag rule on all the potatoes bought from farmers, and, (b) what measures he is taking to ensure farmers benefit from this rule. view
  • 22 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, when we did consult with the Minister, he sounded more comfortable with an answer next week. I would be happy with seven days, just as he had promised. view
  • 10 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I appreciate what the Assistant Minister has said but in his answer he has also said that in his own constituency they have a problem. When you drive along Nakuru-Gilgil Road, the OCPD, Gilgil Police Station has not had a vehicle for the last five years and that is a very busy point. I had an incident and that is how I came to know of it. In Ndaragwa, the OCS and OCPD are used to walking. What criteria will the Assistant Minister use now that he has even said that his own area requires a ... view
  • 10 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I thought the Assistant Minister would have used the opportunity to also tell us what they are doing at the Gilgil Toll Station, which has a similar problem and, in essence, across the country. I am happy to hear that they building toilets at Njoro, but it will be difficult for somebody to drive all the way from Mombasa to Njoro for a toilet. It is important for him to tell us at what intervals they are constructing toilets for the long distance drivers. Even for bus passengers, you find people rushing to the bush and, ... view
  • 3 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. view
  • 3 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I am wondering whether the reasons being adduced by the hon. Member for Lagdera are not the same reasons we want these proceedings covered in camera. This is because the statements that are coming are bound to be taken by the public differently and we may end up with a wrong result. view

  • 3 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to join others in congratulating the KDF and AMISOM for the successes that they have done in Somalia. But as we continue with this success story and with the admission of the Prime Minister that residents of Somali can easily mingle with our own in this country, could he inform this House what extra measures his office is putting in place to ensure that issuance of ID cards is not extended to these fleeing militias? I ask this knowing very well that there is genuine fear that all is not well within the Department ... view
  • 27 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I was just going to say thank you to Mrs. Odhiambo-Mabona, because she has been able to demonstrate to those who had doubts when we were campaigning for the Constitution that actually we are still committed to ensuring that their fears are addressed. view
