  • 27 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, a week ago we looked like we were going to lose this Bill. The fact that we have it today is enough testimony to the fact that we do not need to work with ultimatums. We only need to reach out to one another and we all mean good for this nation. Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I thank the Minister for a job well done. view

  • 26 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. Is it in order for the hon. Member and also the Chief Whip to agitate for detention without trial so that people are jailed without trial, while we spent a lot of time trying to put a new Constitution in place to do away with that old mind? view
  • 26 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I want to support this Motion. I have squatters in my constituency, and I find it offensive for any land near my squatters to be allocated to squatters from another area. I want to commend Dr. Khalwale for this Motion, and ask that the hon. Members who have been put on the Committee should help us because this is actually an intervention measure that should have come a little bit earlier. We do not want politicians to use real issues on the ground to try and become popular. I want to agree with others who have ... view
  • 19 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to say that it is important that we remain consistent in what we have been doing in the past. As you have given directions, it is true that we have brought amendments on the Floor of the House many times. I also do not think that it is important for us to be sweet-talked. We were elected to come and do the proper thing and we do not need to be sweet-talked and be told that you love us or not. view
  • 19 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: We have a responsibility and we owe it to Kenyans because this is a very important Bill. It cares for our kids and we have to do what it is that we need to do even without anybody--- view
  • 19 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is our responsibility and I would have liked us to do it today but we have agreed that we do it tomorrow. We have a lot of Bills pending. I have a Bill pending for debate. Every minute we lose, I am not being of service to a number of people who grow pyrethrum in this country. view
  • 12 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, could the Assistant Minister give us a more comprehensive answer dealing with the whole of Nyandarua because this view
  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, while answering the Question, the Assistant Minister said that this project was supposed to be commenced last year, but money was withdrawn. Could he tell us what was actually withdrawn and in which way, and was it used for this project or on another project? Finally--- view
  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to first thank the Chair and Committee for this piece of legislation. It is important that Parliament gets to know and also reviews or allows any piece of legislation that borders on this issue. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Chair of the Committee on Delegated Legislation for the work that they have done. It is important that Parliament familiarizes itself with all legislation that is done by other statutory bodies because in so doing, as representatives of the people, we are then familiar with what it is that has been ... view
