  • 23 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Tempraory Deputy Chairman, Sir, I want to join my colleagues in supporting this Motion. I would like to say with certainty that we will see the Deputy Leader of Government Business seeking for a further adjournment or extension of time tomorrow. That is because yesterday, we had contributions from the hon. Member. I sit in the Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations and we considered this Bill. Hon. Member had such useful contributions yesterday. We only hope that you had time to translate them to amendments. However, here we are with the so called “bucket carriers” now. We cannot ... view
  • 23 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Actually, this is serious business. We are talking of very serious issues and you can see the Backbenchers are all here. But as hon. Bonny noted, even behind you, they are not here. They are the ones who have delayed us for two years and they cannot even be kind enough to sit with us through the night. They just want to go and continue milking even in the night. view

  • 23 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the only minute I have is for the Minister for Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs. It is good that when they go to those funerals, they get women on board. But where you can make it happen is here. Spend more time here and less time out there. Honestly, this is very frustrating for us and we would want to see some improvement from your end. view

  • 22 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the state of mortuaries in the country is as outlined in part “a” of the Question, for example, in Ol Kalou and Nyahururu general hospitals. Could the Assistant Minister tell us whether the Ministry has any policy to rehabilitate mortuaries across the country? view
  • 22 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to accept the request from the Government reluctantly. I wish to inform the Minister that Members of Parliament have always been willing and ready to give Kenyans good laws. So, we do not even need to be here overnight. It is because they delayed in doing what they should have done that we are going to do what he is asking us to do. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, let me also say that we are doing this at the expense of a Pyrethrum Bill that has been pending for the last six months. I ... view
  • 22 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to support this Bill. In supporting, I will rely heavily on the amendments that I expect from our Committee. One of the major things that has affected this country is corruption. Politicians have been associated with it to the point where now we are grouped with criminals who have been jailed for a term of six years and beyond. It is important that we allow the process that helps the country to move forward to be put in place. This is not a Bill that deals with only politicians. It is meant for ... view
