Temporary Deputy Speaker, I am particularly happy because the National Police Service (Amendment) Bill defines and extends treatment beyond the period of service or contract of the officer who is affected. That is important because there are injuries that officers sustain in the course of duty which will go beyond the period of service. There are injuries that may be sustained by a traumatised police officer which are of mental nature. My friend, Hon. There is a young man who is my neighbour and has an interest to join the police force. However, the mother is not able to raise the bribe of Kshs250,000 that he has been asked to raise. She is just a widow who washes clothes for people to feed her children. Please help, if you can.” view
