The policy on land use recognises investment, assignment value and also the need to place penalties on land use that is not properly taken care of. I come from the background that our land is diminishing - especially the potential land in this country. We have cities and towns growing towards the agricultural land. I find the amendment quite in order in terms of its contents and context. There are certain provisions I may need to specifically mention within the amendment itself that may need the scrutiny of the House. The situation in this country is dire because many things happen and we are unable to respond to emergencies as fast as we should. And after reporting this matter, up to now, no action has been taken by the Government.
