  • 12 Oct 2011 in National Assembly: But I am the Questioner, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Please, give me the first bite! view
  • 12 Oct 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Minister has done very well, as far as I am concerned. That is the problem that is worrying Kenyans. view
  • 12 Oct 2011 in National Assembly: However, in areas like Migori which are perceived to be along the border, it takes a lot of time before we get our IDs processed. What will the Minister do to ensure that Kenya is the same country and there is no question of whether you are living along the border or not? Our people have suffered for too long! view
  • 12 Oct 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I have no problem with the identification at the lower level. The issuance at the national level is where they delay. view
  • 11 Oct 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Before we went on recess, I had filed, more or less, the same Question which the Speaker consented to. But now that Mr. Olago Aluoch has asked it, I want to draw the attention of the Assistant Minister to an answer given by the Minister here on 23rd February about the same people who are being victimized. The Minister assured this House that they will not terminate the services of the people who qualified. When the answer comes here, I want him to also explain why some of those people who ... view
  • 11 Oct 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we are talking about Kenyans like ourselves; young people who are not employed in this country. The majority of Kenyans are the youth. Here is a case where the youth are being victimized by the same Government. I think next week is too far because people are at the gate here. Are we going to keep those people there up to next week? I would request, very humbly, that this answer--- The two Ministries have been talking about the same case for the last two months and, therefore, the Assistant Minister ... view
  • 7 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Minister has so far done well. However, I would like to know the following: Now that the Ministry is giving money to universities for infrastructural development, is she satisfied that the rate at which that transfer is being done will give the university enough time to put up the infrastructure at the new campus at Chepkoilel? view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Education the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Could the Minister state the amount paid in fees by a student in public primary teachers’ colleges and indicate the amount awarded by Government as grant to a student per year to supplement the fees? (b) Under which Votes is the grant charged and how is the same disbursed to the beneficiaries? (c) What measures has the Ministry put in place to ensure that needy students do not lose their places in the colleges due to lack of the lumpsum fees ... view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister for this answer which has brought in very many useful new support to the parents in this country. When he says that he is directing, could he clarify whether he is doing it now or he has done it, so that all the principals and the CDF offices that he is referring to have got copies of his directive? view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am almost satisfied! However, there is a point that I think is not very clear still. This idea of him saying that you have one-year fees leave for the students to stay in the colleges needs to also be sent to the principals and even Members of Parliament in the circular form, so that our students are not actually chased away. In the past, many students lost their chances because they could not raise fees by one single installment. At the moment, the fees paid in our primary teachers training colleges is close to Kshs50,000. ... view
