  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has given a very elaborate answer to my request for a Ministerial Statement. However, you will agree with me that ten people dying under unknown circumstances in seven months is actually not easy to bear by the communities of Migori. We are wondering what he is doing in that area because he is supposed to bring security. He has people who are employed down there to do the work. If these people fail to do the work, could he make the necessary changes in that area? view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, some of our locations are very large. We have tried to ask him to make sure that the community policing operates in that area in the sense that the locations are manageable. Suna Lower Location, for example, is too big for one chief. Could he, please, consider bringing administration closer to the people so that the locations are manageable? But more importantly, could he assure this House and the people of Migori that whatever mistakes have been made by his Ministry, if any, are corrected by making sure that he brings officers to that area who ... view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, one of the areas where we have a lot of insecurity is along our borders with our neighbours. I do not want to mention them. He knows which neighbours I am talking about. We had made requests that he re-considers the border route between Trans Mara, Kuria and Tanzania. That is one area that is giving us a lot of problems. Could you assure us that, that is one of the steps that you will take so that, at least, we have security? Your people cannot chase the robbers and thieves at night when they are ... view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to add my voice to the congratulations that have been given to our athletes. I was with the athletes the other time in Berlin, Germany, and in fact, it makes you proud when you see your people doing so well and winning. For the last few days, Kenyans have been glued to television sets and have been entertained full time. We are doing very well in long races from 1,500 metres onwards, but not in short races. We need to ask ourselves why we have not decided to also invest in people who ... view
  • 26 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me a chance to support the nomination of this very dedicated daughter of Kenya. I have had a chance to work with her in the CDF and this is one of the ladies that I am sure, given this appointment, will serve this country to the best of her ability. I support. view
  • 25 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Agriculture the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Is the Minister aware that farmers in Western Kenya, especially in Migori County, are planting without DAP fertilizer or have not planted at all due to lack of subsidized fertilizer and maize seeds at the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) depot in the region? (b)When will the Ministry avail sufficient subsidized fertilizer and maize seeds at the NCPB depot in the region? (c)What long term plans does the Ministry have in place to solve the acute shortage of fertilizer, which has ... view
  • 25 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, while I appreciate the answer given by the Minister, I want to remind her that this is not the first time I am bringing such a Question in this House. Earlier this year in January, I had to complain to the Minister because of the same problem of delays in supplying fertilizer in Migori, in particular. Could the Minister tell view
  • 25 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to ask the Minister to confirm to this House that the amount of fertilizer to be delivered to Migori from this Friday is adequate for the local demand in that area. view
  • 24 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, you will have to excuse me for my voice because of the problem I am trying to state here. view
  • 24 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Minister of State for---- view
