Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Speaker. I also join my colleagues in contributing to this Motion. First, I thank the Chairperson and the entire membership of the Committee because they have done a marvellous job. I applaud the initiative of the leadership of this House, under the stewardship of the Speaker, for dividing the PIC into three. It has made Parliament’s work very efficient. We should emulate the same with other Committees that have a heavy workload. As the Chairperson of the Committee has elaborated, it is true that there is misuse of public funds in many institutions. The ...

At some point, I was a member of the Committee on Implementation and I witnessed some of these things. Once we have debated and passed this Report, the Committee on Implementation should take the initiative to ensure that what we have passed is implemented. The Committee is letting Kenyans down. Kenyans need to have value for their money because they pay taxes. Currently, it is hard to get money; Kenyans are hard hit. The projects we are talking about that are incomplete 35 years later, may be partly our fault. Since it is this House that allocates the money, we ...

Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Speaker, for giving me a chance to contribute to this very important Motion. From what we have seen, many of us do not pay tax in this country. This is the only way to go about it. I believe that our country is now coming up. The digital space will help this country to collect enough revenue from every corner and reduce borrowing from outside. These regulations are good because they are trying to create space for so many things. The internet has helped in many aspects. I believe that paying taxes in most ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker for giving me a chance to contribute to this Motion. Education is the key to everything all over the world. I want to thank the Member who has brought this very important Motion. I rise to support it. Talking of the Competency-Based Curriculum, I think our Constitution has a lapse. Our education sector has not been anchored very well in the Constitution. Every Cabinet Secretary who is appointed, especially in Ministry of Education, wants to make decisions as they feel. Right from the late President Daniel arap Moi’s time, there have been many changes on ...

Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. I rise to support the Petitioners. We have a lot of hope in this Government that roads and infrastructure is going to be done. We passed a Motion here in 2016 for the tarmacking of about 20 kilometres of roads in every constituency. It started in some constituencies, but in others it has not been done. In my constituency, the Sirisia, Chwele-Lwakhakha Road is bad. Hon. Speaker, you know there are very many trucks there because it is the exit from Uganda to Mombasa. That is one of the problems in my constituency. An ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker, for giving me a chance to speak. Many of us like Hon. Gikaria and others came here early to constitute quorum. I concur with Hon. Gogo. There are Members who can just arrive and are given a chance but those who came earlier may sit here for a whole day. Hon. Temporary Speaker, I want to support the Bill and thank Hon. Ndindi Nyoro, and the Committee, for the time they have taken to come up with the Budget and Appropriations Bill. This country has a lot of potential if people can support agriculture. This country will move forward if the people of this country can support agriculture the way you put it earlier on. I urge Kenyans and the Members of this House to be together. Let us give space and time to this Government. We need to support it because it just came into power the other day. ...

Hon. Temporary Speaker, agriculture needs support. The Government should support the farmer. The economy of this country largely depends on farming, that is, coffee and tea farming. People have been crying of hunger. I believe that we are going to have a bumper harvest of maize this year, especially in areas we come from. We will not be crying of food shortage in another, maybe, two years. I thank the President for bringing fertiliser to the people of this country. As leaders, we are ready to make sure that we work together.
