  • 13 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. First, let me send condolences to the families that lost their loved ones. It is true that all of us are talking about this fatal accident that happened and we have lost very many people in this country. As a Member of Parliament from Sirisia, I blame two institutions. One is the police. This is because as a Member of Parliament, I have also witnessed that most of the times, they do not do their work properly. You can see a policeman taking money from the truck drivers. That means they are ... view
  • 13 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for adding me a minute. I was saying that we need a dual carriageway all the way from Mombasa to Malaba to save lives of our people. Again, let me take this opportunity to thank Hon. Wanyonyi for having brought this Motion to the House. Let it be implemented. As members of this House, we should not just talk and the public is not seeing the fruits. Members of Parliament are passing Motions and Bills and they are not being implemented. view
  • 6 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me a chance to contribute. I think my card is not working well. view
  • 6 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Let me start by sending my condolences and those of the people of Sirisia Constituency to the family of the late Hon. Nyenze. We are very sorry. I have known Hon. Nyenze for a very long time. I served with him in the last term. He was a senior Member of this House and he contributed greatly in this House as the Leader of the Minority Party. We are going to miss him and say sorry to his family and the people of Kitui West. I stand here to support the Bill because it is good. This House has passed ... view
  • 6 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: another Parliament discussing it and that is not good. Sometimes, we need to speak the truth. Some engineers in this country do shoddy work. Many Members have said that we have the Architects Board and the Engineers Board, but many buildings collapse in this country. After every one month, we see a building in Kisii collapsing and killing several people. We hear they usually cancel the contractor’s licence, but what about the people who die? What action has the Government taken against those who have fake papers and kill several people? Sometimes the materials used while building are inadequate. For ... view
  • 6 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Because of time, I just want to appreciate Hon. Barasa for bringing up this important Motion. I come from Bungoma and this has been happening there for quite some time. In 2004, the killings of innocent wananchi continued until the Deputy President of this Republic of Kenya came in to save the situation. It was there until the Government got concerned. We need to come out clearly to say it openly as leaders from western Kenya. I thank my colleagues like Hon. Bunyasi for their good contribution. As people of Bungoma, we need not ... view
  • 30 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me a chance to contribute to this amendment to the Public Trustee Act. Many speakers, my colleagues, have talked about the same. This country is governed by laws, the Constitution and rules. It is the highest time now as a Parliament to come in to save our people, because it is long overdue. Many people have died before getting their dues. Even the trustees who are put there also live long, follow the process and finally die. As Parliament, first I think we need to come in fully because we ... view
  • 30 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: Nairobi to chase their money is not fair yet the country is the same. There are labour offices everywhere in this country. So, we need to come up with laws to enable us summon these people to ensure they hurry up or move quickly to pay trustees before they die. It is of no help if your money is somewhere and you keep chasing it for 20 years like what Mheshimiwa said here that you might even die before you get it. Somebody else who might be your granddaughter or son follows and they still get nothing. There are a ... view
  • 29 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you Hon. Speaker for giving me this chance to also contribute. Let me start by appreciating Hon. Mbarire for having detected the mistake so that the public out there would know that, indeed, this House is working. Hon. Speaker, indeed, there is a cry out there. The county governments are really crying for money. Money should be given. I have stood here to support this Bill so that the county Government can also move and do their development as needed. view
