As other Senators were quoting from the Bible, I was praying silently, but earnestly for God to reveal to me a verse that I can use to describe what is going on. What was revealed to me is from Isaiah 43:19, which says:- “See, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? Do you not see it? I am making a new way in the wilderness and stream in the wasteland.” view
• 28 Mar 2018 in Senate: Amen! What has happened in Kenya is historic. Kenyans are very optimistic. This is not the first time that we are optimistic in Kenya. In 2002 and 2007 when Hon. Raila Odinga and Hon. Kibaki came together, we were also rated as the most optimistic people in the world. If three weeks down the line there is no response, I do not know how the response will come in a week’s time. I do not know what is happening with the statement. view

• 20 Mar 2018 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, the response given by my good friend, Senator Charles Kibiru, is not satisfactory at all. Furthermore, it delayed because we had requested that a letter be done to the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism pronto to check the translocation but it was not. I was with the Cabinet Secretary two weeks ago and the translocation has already been done. When I read that response about the rationale for translocating the animals from Solio Ranch and Sangari Ranch to Tsavo National Park, I felt like jumping out of my skin. I support the Petition from Kajiado County because people from my county were also affected by the same, especially, on the issue of compensation. There is no standard value for land. You will find that somebody who has a title deed and a house gets Kshs4 million, but his or her neighbour without a title deed gets Kshs200,000. It is the role of the Government to give title deeds. Most land in Kenya has no title deeds. Some people are living in ranches and since ranches have block title deeds, they have ... view
