  • 23 Jul 2015 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, no flights will be allowed to take off or land at JKIA or Wilson Airport. These are losses to our country. If roads are closed from tomorrow to Sunday, you can count the losses that the country will incur. You may deny it, but that is the naked truth. Mikokoteni pushers on the roads will not be in business. I hope when President Obama leaves this country, he will leave behind a huge cheque to compensate Kenyans who will suffer losses in these three days. If president Obama is coming here to put a stamp on what ... view
  • 23 Jul 2015 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, the Senate Majority Leader says that I am one of those who were in the list. I never denied that. I am ready to go to court. What we are talking about here is the confession by the Head of State of this country; that his own office is filled with thieves. view
  • 21 Jul 2015 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. While contributing, Sen. Wangari said in her Statement that she wants to “second” the Bill. She is not seconding, but supporting for the record purposes. view
  • 16 Jul 2015 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Listening to the statement that was read by Sen. Kittony and the issues which are being raised now, would I be in order to ask the Chair to refer that statement to the relevant Committee to be worked on again? If possible, the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for that Ministry should appear before this House to answer those questions which are too deep and not contained in the statement that has just been read. view
  • 16 Jul 2015 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I stand to second this Motion. The Motion is asking for only two days to work in the morning hours. Looking at the pending business before this House and considering that the recess is approaching, that is, the end of this month, I wish to second this Motion. view
  • 16 Jul 2015 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, considering that we are asking for only two Sittings in the morning hours and given the issues which have been raised by the Senate Majority Whip, it is important that we pass this Motion, so that we can do the pending business that is ahead of us. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to second. view
  • 16 Jul 2015 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Sen. (Prof.) Lonyangapuo is a Member of RBC and any business of this House originates from there. Whether he attended the meeting or not, is he in order to come here and pretend that he does not know where this Motion originated from? view
  • 15 Jul 2015 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Kenya is one of the developing countries and Kenyans are still struggling to come to the level of doing business in competition with the rest of the world. You need ten Kenyans to each come up with $5 million to raise $50 million to start a bank. Whoever came up with that suggestion wanted to eliminated the local banks that are owned by Kenyans. One of the best banks in this country today, the Equity Bank, is owned and managed by Kenyans. History is very clear that Mr.James Mwangi started that bank with Kshs50,000 and ... view
  • 9 Jul 2015 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I also rise to congratulate my brother, Sen. Leshore, for coming up with this very important Motion. While seated, I listened to wonderful contributions by my colleagues. I thought about 1963 all the way to 1970s when senior Sen. G.G. Kariuki and other legislators like Martin Shikuku and others were very active in the National Assembly. So many Motions and Bills were passed over the years. I wonder how many of them have been acted upon and implemented to assist the poor and true citizens of this country. We debate in this House simply to ... view
  • 7 Jul 2015 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker Sir. Sen. Dullo Adan is giving a very important Statement and consultations are very loud. Can the Members be asked to at least tone down? view
