  • 30 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: From the outset, let me say that I support this Report and it is high time the citizens of this country accepted the reality. Things must not always go your way; you have to accept them as they are. Even the Members who are agitating in this House--- view

  • 30 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: I am saying that I support this Report; if we do not support it, then it means even the Members who are claiming that the IEBC is not competent--- view
  • 30 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: I am saying this is the time we have to reason as citizens and Members of this House. Let people also be honest with themselves. When you claim that the IEBC is incompetent and the election was not conducted properly, and at the same time you are being paid by the tax payers, was the same referee who declared you are elected not fair? It does not mean that because certain individuals were not elected, the IEBC was wrong. It is high time we accepted the verdict of the referee and allowed life to move on. So having this Authority, with the mandate that will be entrusted according to this Bill will stimulate development in these arid areas. We will be more prepared for disasters and in that case we can ... view

  • 23 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Report. Although to a large extent there is clamuor for increasing funding to the counties but, surely, the level of wastage, as some hon. Members have indicated, does not serve the purpose for which the counties or devolution was created. Even this idea of referendum is trying to make people relevant. But the importance of the whole matter is for the good of this country. But people have to be busy at the expense of the work of other Kenyans. view
  • 23 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Therefore, when you look at the whole question about the Division of Revenue Bill, it is important that we support it. If we do not support this Report, we are likely to make our counties not work. It is time we looked at our health sector as it has been indicated by previous speakers. When you look at the health facilities in many places, they are in deplorable condition. There is also the confusion with the personnel at that particular level. I think those are the areas that we need to look at more keenly as a House. As we ... view
