  • 9 May 2007 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to support this very important Motion. First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to really commend and thank the hon. Oloo-Aringo for bringing this very important Motion which is long overdue. Compulsory and free education in primary and secondary level is overdue, because a country with educated people is likely to move forward in terms of development. This is because the knowledge acquired at the very basic level would be a very strong foundation for a nation to move forward in terms of development. Mr. Deputy ... view
  • 2 May 2007 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I wish that when Mr. Raila comes to power, then I will occupy a substantive position as he promised. I thank you for giving me this opportunity. I was an hon. Member of the delegation. What surprises the citizens of this country is the denial by the Government of the Republic of Kenya that a contract did not exist concerning this ship. It is very shameful! The Government entered into a contract with Euromarine on 15th July, 2003. The building of the ship started and a project officer was posted; a marine engineer ... view
  • 2 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, this is shameful for this nation. We will never have--- You never know whether PriceWaterHouseCoopers have secret agents. They are going to go into details of all the files, contracts of the Republic of Kenya concerning defence issues, yet this House has a PAC and the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations which has brought a report to this House. The Government has gone out of its way to breach confidentiality and at the same time pay a whooping sum of over Kshs100 million to a company to just bring a report which this ... view
  • 2 May 2007 in National Assembly: Since we went and found out that this Government entered into a contract, if it is afraid to tell Kenyans the truth, that: "Yes, we entered into a contract. In this contract we are supposed to do ABC, and D---" You must meet your international obligations, otherwise this Government is going to bring shame, tarnish the name and image of our country internationally. We cannot accept that! This Government will go and another one will come, but Kenya, as a nation, will remain. We do not want shame to be brought to our country by a very inefficient Government. Mr. ... view
  • 2 May 2007 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I beg to support. view
  • 2 May 2007 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is the Minister in order to mislead the House that the Opposition was accusing the Government wrongly while it is the Government that entered into those contracts and refused to inform Kenyans about the situation of those contracts? view
  • 18 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. It is very surprising that a Government which is supposed to undertake the responsibility of ensuring the security of Kenyans--- A good example is the Lord Delamere's grandson's case, where a game warden was killed and the Government said that it was not aware. When the Artur brothers came to this country, the Government said that they were investors, yet, they were coming to do wrong things. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I now, this German actually beat up a Kenyan. The Government was given two weeks by the Questioner to find ... view
  • 12 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Leader of Government Business regarding the recent judgment by the honourable Court of the East African Community (EAC), rejecting the nominees by Kenya as hon. Members of the EALA. In its wisdom, the honourable court blamed Kenya for not following the laws and procedures pertaining to the nomination of the hon. Members of the EALA. I want the Leader of Government Business, in his Ministerial Statement, to first state or tell the country when Kenya shall submit a fresh list of nominees to the EALA. ... view
  • 12 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: T hank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Let me thank the Leader of Government Business for that short response. I wish that he will submit the list on Tuesday so that our people, especially the KANU nominees, should--- view
  • 12 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, my third request in the Statement was the apology that the Government must give to Kenyans for letting the country down in nominating those people. view
