  • 27 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, my friend, Dr. Eseli, is a retired Major who served in the Kenya Army, and he should know that our pilots are very competent. Since we established MAB, the accident rate has been very low. So, I do not think the retirement of junior officers and the retaining of senior officers will have anything to do with the safety of MAB. view

  • 27 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the landing approach area to the airport should have no building at all. So, the issue of height should not even arise. We have asked the Nairobi City Council and the Ministry of Lands to remove these people, because the landing funnel of the airstrip should be very clear. That shows good leadership and I would like to commend the police as well as the Administration Police (AP). We need to tap the talent of our youth in other institutions such as our universities. I request the Minister to expand the Kshs1 million that has been set aside in every constituency to promote football to cover all the sports. Equally, I urge hon. Members to match a shilling for a shilling when it comes to the CDF money so that we can ... view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: As a parliamentary champion, I would like to request my friends like Mr. Mungatana, who used to beat me in cross-country races once in a while--- I was in Berlin with my friend Mr. Pesa and we talked to our athletes. We need to keep this up because a fit nation is a healthy nation. Our sportsmen have shown this to the world. view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to support this very important Vote. This Ministry is very important. At the moment, we are going through serious famine in this country and yet the Ministry is extremely under-funded, considering the responsibility it has been assigned. We have the National Disaster Operation Centre which is very important but is in the wrong Ministry. The Centre falls under the Ministry of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security. We know that the Ministry of State for Special Programmes is also in the Office of the President and the National Disaster Operation Centre should ... view
