  • 19 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to agree that we adopt the Committee Report. It is a very interesting and nice piece of Report as it touches on Russia and our relationship in aviation services. It has come at the right time and it is important that this happens. I have personally been to St. Petersburg with the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations. I have a first-hand experience. We had to go through Vienna, Geneva and then Russia. It would be important for Kenya to have those direct flights because it would mitigate the many stop-overs ... view
  • 19 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: “cut” from a different coat. Having these direct flights would help our students. The last time we were in Russia, we identified a need to have more of our students study there. It happens that the Russian Government offers more scholarships but the challenge is the distance. So, having direct flights would be a good thing.Relations that lessen time of going to a place fastens our infrastructural development. We are looking at opportunities for our young people in terms of employment. If there would be direct flights, other than employment with our national airline which would directly benefit our young ... view
  • 19 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you so much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. It is definitely a very beautiful scene. It is very heart warming and if you have a very strong Christian faith, then it is something that is worth visiting. Even after that, there are very many nice gold coated and silver craft for Christians. Saint Petersburg is a very beautiful place. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. view
  • 8 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to ask Question No.243/2021. This follows what was indicated in a section of the Press concerning one Mr. Joseph Mboya Nyamuthe. This Question is directed to the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain circumstances under which Mr. Joseph Mboya Nyamuthe of ID. No.102259323, a resident of DC Village, Komolo Sub-Location, Komolo Location in Rangwe Sub-County, is being held incommunicado while in imprisonment in the Republic of Burundi, and charges preferred against him, if any? (ii) What steps has the Ministry taken to secure the release of Mr. Joseph Mboya ... view
  • 24 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I rise to support this amendment because honestly, our retirees are suffering. When it comes to retirement, nobody applies to retire. You are just notified that you are retiring even as much as we are aware that at some point we will retire and go into old age. It is not an interesting thing to go into old age. So, when somebody is meant to pay your benefits and does not remit them, at some point, you will be unable to access them. This is really a big challenge. At this point, you already ... view
  • 6 May 2021 in National Assembly: I, in memory of Michael Okiro Abiga of Rangwe Constituency, who lost his life to electoral violence, I vote yes. view
  • 29 Apr 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. Kindly, allow me to indulge in this matter without my mask. I thank God for allowing me to participate in this august House in this constitutional moment. It is really a privilege for the people of Rangwe to participate in the Bill that seeks to amend the Constitution of Kenya. I appreciate the process that this particular Bill has gone through for it to come to this end. One of the eminent persons who participated in the process of putting together this Bill before it came to the House is one of my constituents, ... view
  • 29 Apr 2021 in National Assembly: right now. So, we really need to interrogate this matter with a lot of humility. We do not need populist ideas in looking at what is in this Bill. The persons who have spoken before me have elucidated the constitutionality of this Bill. So, there is nothing that is not constitutional about this Bill. It is anchored in our current Constitution. We are making amendments to the Constitution with the clear mind that we are moving from a certain point, as a country, to a better point. It is said that if we do not embrace change, change will change ... view
  • 29 Apr 2021 in National Assembly: There are gains that have been made in this country especially on matters governance. This particular Bill has worked very well especially when it comes to matters gender. The Bill is good on matters gender and recently when the country was looking for a Chief Justice, there was a proposition by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) that the Chief Justice be a woman. It is not in the woman that we are looking at the Chief Justice. We are looking at the qualifications of a person, a Kenyan. Kenyans went ahead to give a list of senior persons who are ... view
  • 29 Apr 2021 in National Assembly: When it comes to the issue of national ethos, this is where I really want to dwell on. The problem that we have as a nation, among others, and the biggest of them all is that Kenyans do not look at what we are able to do for our country. We only look at what Serikali can do for us - view
