  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Government committed itself last year in March. The Assistant Minister has risen to tell us about a Commission that is coming. Is it in order for him to ignore the commitment he made to the people of Kenya last year and talk about a Commission as a solution to the problem that they brought about? view
  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. When the Minister rises to answer the concerns of hon. Members here and starts by misleading the House about the existence of a team called “Regional Commissioners” which was sneaked in not even a year ago into the administration set up for a particular purpose----. Is it in order for him to talk of the existence of the Regional Commissioners as though they have always existed? view

  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, further to what hon. Shebesh has said, could the Minister possibly give us the details as we are asking of him in terms of whether all the regions of this country are well represented in those appointments? From the list of the County Commissioners that has been given to us, you will find that some regions have been left out. Can he indicate the region that each of the appointees comes from and the reasons as to why some regions were left out? view
  • 9 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, with regard to availability of land, I think there is a lot of land in Rongai at the moment which has been offered to the Ministry to buy for the last eight months. This is about 5,500 acres. The Government has chosen to purchase 3,000 acres and left a balance of 2,500 acres. What is the logic when she tells us that there is no land and yet there is land? view
  • 9 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I come from that place and I have inspected the land. The land is not different from Banita where the Minister has settled many people. Is it in order for the Minister to mislead the House that that land is not habitable and yet it is equivalent to the one that she has settled people already? view
  • 9 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Minister was asked whether he can consider paying benefits to sustain his family. Is he in order to avoid that particular question? view
  • 3 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Minister has told this honourable House that all those houses are all in class HG. What necessitated doctors being asked to vacate them and the judges could have occupied them without necessarily having to disturb other civil servants? view
  • 2 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The hon. Member for Makadara did clearly specify what happened where a task force was set up to look into the proposed demolition of structures along Mombasa Road. When it came to the other demolitions, there was no such task force formed. He asked: “Why was that so?” The Attorney-General did not answer that question. Is it in order? view
  • 18 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the issue of security is a very serious matter. It is not just beginning but it has been on. The reaction of the Government has not been convincing. I remember last year, I was a subject of serious threats which I reported to this House and directives were given to the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security by the Speaker to the effect that I should get some additional security. Arising from that, the whole of my office staff were arrested on trumped up charges by the police. They have not been able ... view
