Mr. Speaker, Sir, considering that many of the boreholes that have been drilled across the country have not been successful, what does the Ministry intend to do with the balance of the money that has not been used for provision of water, especially where the boreholes have not been successfully drilled and, therefore, there is money for equipping and other activities to bring such boreholes to the level of releasing water for public use? What is she doing with that money to ensure that it benefits the people who were intended to benefit from it?

asked the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Government:- (a) whether he is aware of the deplorable and unhygienic condition at the Kioto dumpsite in Nakuru Town; (b) whether he is also aware of the negative effects of flooding on the dumpsite; and, (c) what plans the Ministry has to relocate the dumpsite to an appropriate site.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, while I thank the Assistant Minister for the effort to answer this Question, I would like to ask him, now that the whole surrounding area is residential, what does he intend to do to safeguard the health of the people living around the area considering the fact that the whole area has been contaminated and it continues to be contaminated?

On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. A short while ago, the Assistant Minister stood here to say that they have made arrangements with the Ministry of Finance to buy additional maize and he stands the second time to say that is it not actually his responsibility to buy the maize, but that of another Ministry. Is it in order for him to keep on giving us mixed information and, thus, misleading the House?

Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has indicated that as a measure to curb this menace, he has increased patrols and the security personnel. I asked a similar Question last year and he told us the same thing. However, up to now, we have not been able to see those police officers. Could he confirm to this House how many security personnel he has deployed in respect to the Question raised by the hon. Member?
