  • 15 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I think the assessment in terms of the damage is basically what contributes to the total cost of the project. Therefore, I do not really think it is true that it is one sided. Furthermore, the policy is very clear on what amounts of compensations are awarded for to the damages that are caused. I am saying that if the hon. Member wishes, I can provide to this House a list indicating the compensation provided for, whether it is a blue gum tree, a house, a toilet or road. view
  • 14 Apr 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I withdraw and apologise for using that word. What will the Prime Minister do to ensure that some untruths peddled by some of his colleagues in Government about the proposed Constitution are stopped? Kenyans will rely on such information to make an informed decision when the time of voting comes. view
  • 7 Apr 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the Assistant Minister to claim that the Government owns majority shares in the KPLC when we know very well that it is a minority shareholder? Could he give the percentages, so that we can know whether what he has said is actually true? view
  • 1 Apr 2010 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also stand to support the amendment. If we are going to set a stage where we can now look at maximum and minimum, in terms of property ownership, I am afraid that this House is very soon also going to determine the number of cows or camels that one can own. So, without using many words, I want to support the amendment as proposed, so that this House can have a chance to legislate on how the issue of land ownership is going to be handled. view
  • 25 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, what measures has the Assistant Minister put in place to ensure that some constituencies which are larger and require more money than the average Kshs16 million that he gives--- I would like to know whether he has a special fund for those constituencies, especially Kipkelion? view
  • 10 Dec 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Minister has attempted to tell us how one of the farmers’ associations has been facing problems due to gross mismanagement. It is now a common phenomenon that many farmers’ organizations under his Ministry are facing similar problems. They have been allowed to borrow loans from banks. But over time, they are unable to service these loans. Is there any policy in place regarding borrowing loans by these organisations from the banks to safeguard the interest of farmers? For example, the Kenya Farmers Association (KFA) has a similar problem. view
  • 16 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wonder why the Minister finds it necessary to have 40 airstrips within the same vicinity as opposed to having maybe one or two which are fully developed to the extent that they can serve the public reasonably. view
  • 29 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: I oblige, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. Thank you, for giving me this opportunity to support this very important Motion. First and foremost, I would like to congratulate my colleague, hon. Chanzu, for bringing this Motion to the House. view
  • 29 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: We have benefitted a lot from hydro-power generation in this country. It is important that the hon. Member is seeking the passage of this Motion, so that the Government is compelled to enlist the production of small hydro-power plants in order to boost the generation of power within our grid. view
  • 29 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: We have seen the importance of our rivers. Just the other day, the President of this Republic was commissioning a very important project at Sondu-Miriu. It is mega project that has cost about Kshs19 billion. We have smaller projects which we can do and which we can help boost the power generation in this country. For example, where I come from, there is River Kipchorian which is one of the main tributaries of River Nyando. It has so many waterfalls in- between. Along that river, there are the Rusikebe Waterfalls in Londiani. Along the river course all the way to ... view
