• 12 Oct 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I want to support the Chair on this amendment. The National Assembly is a platform for the public and they need to be involved in all development issues regarding this country. For the expenditure incurred by the security forces, the public also needs to know what we are using and what we are getting. So, this is a proper amendment which we all need to support. • 12 Oct 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I would like to congratulate the Chairman of the Committee for this good amendment. According to the Constitution, Kenyans are entitled to treatment. It is paramount that members of our armed forces get proper treatment. Some members of our Defence Forces have been seriously injured in the past. Some have lost their lives while defending our nation, for example, during the recent attacks by Al-Shabaab . Compensation should be made in good time so that the families of the officers who lose their lives during attacks can move on with their lives well. view

Masomo ya shule za chekechea ndiyo nguzo ya masomo katika zile ngazi zote mpaka chuo kikuu. Kwa muda mrefu sana, nchi yetu ilikuwa imepuuza masomo hayo ya chekechea. Hivyo basi, watoto wengi wamekosa kupata masomo ya chekechea. Ni muhimu sana na nimefurahi kwamba Mswada huu unazungumzia miundo misingi ya kuwezesha kuwepo, katika hii Jamuhuri yetu ya Kenya, shule za chekechea. Kwa hivyo, mikakati hii lazima tuiangalie ndiyo tujue kwamba watoto wetu watapata mafunzo yaliyosawia na kanuni zetu. Tukifanya hivyo, tutaboresha elimu ya watoto wetu. Pengine wengine wanaona ni Hoja isiyokuwa na uzito lakini ina uzito sana haswa tukiangalia kuwa lazima tuwe tunajiashiria na kuambia vizazi vyetu pale tulipotoka. Tunaona viongozi wengi wetu ambao sasa wako mbele katika utetezi wa haki, walitetea nchi yetu kwa kupambana na wale wabeberu mpaka sisi tukapata Uhuru. Tuweze kupata zile pambo mwafaka za kuwekwa pale na majina ya wale mashujaa wetu ambao wamepigania Uhuru wetu. Kama vile mwenzangu, Mhe. Ali, amesema, sisi tumewasahau mashujaa wetu. Juzi nilikuwa America na tukatembea sehemu ya Rhode Island mahali ambapo kunajengwa nyumba nyingi, takriban nyumba 200 za wale waliopigania uhuru. We have devolution and we want to have structures at the county level so that citizens at the county can access services by the National Land Commission (NLC). Article 62(2) of the Constitution states: “Public land shall vest in and be held by a county government for the people resident in the county, and shall be administered on their behalf by National Land Commission.” If the NLC administers the land on behalf of the county government, then we should have a structure.
