  • 23 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. May I take this opportunity to thank Hon. Duale for the work he has done and for the way he has mentored us as first timers in Parliament. He has guided us and we congratulate him. Despite our failures, he has led us well. He has proved himself to be a great man who has a bright future ahead. He has also showed us that despite the pressure on his shoulders, he can still deliver. He has delivered on behalf of the Jubilee Government. We wish him well. He has a bright future ahead. To ... view

  • 3 Mar 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for the chance given to give a comment on what has been said by the Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations and the Vice-Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Health. I think the statements given by the Principal Secretary and the Cabinet Secretary for Defence show we are not taking this disease seriously as we should. The country is at risk because we have people travelling now and then and we have foreigners who we cannot confirm whether they are coming from places where this epidemic exists or not. Moreover, in the ... view

  • 25 Feb 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this important Motion. I support the work and the effort the Committee has put in to come up with this Report. It means a lot of input. There are a number of things which I feel should not be as they are like it has been said by my colleague on the issue of IDPs. As it is, it is the stand of the current leadership of the ruling party and the opposition that we should never experience violence after elections at any other given time ... view
  • 25 Feb 2020 in National Assembly: The IDPs should not be enjoying a monopoly of being called IDPs yet their pieces of land which they used to own then still exist. They have valid title deeds. They should go back to their land. There are those who took bold steps to go back to their land and they have never been bothered. It is high time we encouraged them. The Executive should encourage the people who refer to themselves as IDPs to go back to their pieces of land because there are many masquerading as IDPs yet they are not IDPs. They expect free money from ... view
  • 25 Feb 2020 in National Assembly: To conclude my remarks, we have this Universal Service Fund which is supposed to be like the Equalisation Fund to marginalised areas. It is uttermost surprise to some of us who come from constituencies like Central Imenti. This is an interesting constituency because it starts at the forest side and goes down to Tharaka, which borders Kitui. It is one of the most remote parts of the constituency. People have no cash crops. They have nothing to rely on. In dry seasons, they beg. They are supplied with relief food, but when it comes to the Equalisation Fund, we are ... view
