  • 10 Sep 2019 in National Assembly: However, before I sit down, I would like to congratulate my brother Hon. Ndindi Nyoro for standing firm. Through him we have proved how bad our security systems are, how the security organs misuse resources and how State organs in charge of protecting Kenyans are arresting people at night. It has proved that these people are not there for the truth. The accusations levelled against Hon. Ndindi Nyoro were purely lies and so I support this. That was directed to congratulate him. view
  • 8 May 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I rise to ask Question No. 024/2019 to the Cabinet Secretary for Health. (i) Is the Cabinet Secretary aware that one Ronny Kaburu Maingi of National ID No. 218955999 from Kiambogo area of Buuri Constituency was hospitalised at Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital on 22nd January, 2019 and while receiving treatment at the said hospital, the patient was attacked and killed by another patient suffering from mental illness on 25th January 2019? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary provide progress of investigations on the death of the patient, and state what action the Ministry is taking to ensure that ... view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to support the State of the Nation Address by His Excellency the President. I do not want to repeat the issues other Members have raised, but I had a lot of concern on the President’s Speech particularly on the enablers of the Big Four Agenda. You will recall last year the Government withdrew the development budget for electricity. When we talk about manufacturing, we are talking about electricity being provided to the consumers. And those are the people who brought us to Parliament. I am happy to note there is a mega project the ... view
  • 21 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, my Question is directed to the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Co-ordination of National Government. • 21 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. My chairman has alluded to the deliberation of the Committee, specifically the benefits that Kenya is going to make by being part of the African Civil Aviation Commission. As a result of this, Kenya is going to be part of the International Civil Aviation Organisation. Kenya cannot learn on its own. We must be part of the world decision-making as far as aviation matters are concerned. We must gain from the benefit of the capacity that the International Civil Aviation Organisation has in terms of safety, security and economies that surround air transport. If ... view
  • 6 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I stand to support the Motion. I agree with the submissions expressed by the Member for Rarieda. But, at the same time, one of the things that have really affected the Service is police welfare. view
  • 6 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: I hope and believe the incoming commissioners will seriously address the new concept of the NPSC. We know there are a lot of issues affecting the Service right now; the merging of the regular police and the Administration Police (AP). The issue of accommodation; house allowances and the uniforms is still not sorted. We see some police officers in blue, jungle jackets and others in yellow. We see all kinds of uniforms. I think it is high time this commission, just like other Members have expressed, took their responsibilities seriously. view
  • 6 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: One of the things we require these commissioners to do is to immediately embark on a mission to re-orientate the Police Service officers. Having merged the two, and coming from the issues we have experienced of indiscipline, reckless shootings and many other aspects associated with the Police Service, I strongly believe that these gentlemen and ladies who are coming in as commissioners are up to task. I have no doubt in my mind that we will be seeing a lot of changes and improvements. view
