  • 20 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, in the event that he succeeds in borrowing this money from the domestic market, how much time do we have to spend it before the accounts are frozen? view
  • 20 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, given the experience Mr. David Kimaiyo has, and with the kind of reforms that are required to be undertaken in the police, I think he is the right man to head the Kenya Police Service. I second the Motion. view
  • 13 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the fact that there are between 170,000 and 200,000 households with illegal firearms is confirmation that the Government is not providing adequate security and, therefore, people have to acquire illegal firearms for their own security. What is the purpose of disarming Kenyans when the Government is not able to provide adequate security to them? view
  • 11 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Assistant Minister, look at it this way. It is possible for a student to apply for admission to a Chinese university that is not recognised in Kenya. He or she may do so out of ignorance upon seeing an advertisement in the media. In the event that one enrols in a programme in such a university and graduates, what assistance view
  • 21 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Water and Irrigation:- (a) what plans the Ministry has to supply water to residents of Wamba town and its environs, construct Lorok Onyokie Pan Dam in Lorok Onyokie Sub-location and drill the Koiting borehole in Koiting Sub-location. (b) when the project will be undertaken and commissioned for use. view
  • 21 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Minister for that answer. My only concern is about Wamba Water Supply. I have had the opportunity to look at the design in the Minister’s office and the position is that the current water production is 138 cubic metres of water per day and yet the demand is 1,004 cubic metres per day. Now, will Kshs36.5 million be sufficient to meet the demand for water in Wamba Town? view
  • 21 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, now that this project has been earmarked for implementation this financial year, is she able to state when exactly the project will take off? view
  • 21 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Minister has said in his Statement that the raid took place on 19th October, 2012 and it was not until 9th November that security officers were deployed to recover the stolen animals. Why did it take that long before the security personnel pursued the stolen animals? Secondly, the intention of the security operation being carried out is to apprehend the bandits and recover the stolen animals. Could the Minister tell us whether any progress has been made in respect of the recovery of the stolen animals and equipment? view
  • 20 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, we are convinced that there was need to constitute a committee to investigate atrocities and other historical injustices committed against Kenyans. My concern and my appeal to the Minister is, given the fact that some of us have written to the Commission citing incidents that have taken place in our constituency like Samburu East, up to now, the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) has not visited the place. In 1963/1964 over 20 people were killed indiscriminately by security officers. You can imagine the humiliation vested on view
  • 11 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I support the petition. It is important to know that the petitioners come from pastoral areas. The pastoralists and known for not killing wildlife. In fact, wildlife grazes freely with our livestock. However, we are really concerned about the meagre compensation that the Ministry gives whenever people are killed by wildlife. We are calling upon the Minister to bring the Wildlife Bill so that we will be able to address these concerns. Secondly, we are equally concerned about arbitrary arrests that are made by wildlife rangers whenever people are suspected to have killed wildlife. It is ... view
