  • 26 Jul 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker, for protecting me. We need to be open to discuss these issues with our children as they are and not calling them things. Tell your child… view
  • 26 Jul 2023 in National Assembly: Well, I can explain to him what I mean. In other countries it is called mutilation, which you are opposed to. At home, we call it circumcision, which is not right because it involves cutting the whole part, hence the term mutilation. I am not opposed to the Motion on comprehensive education for our children in schools. I only urge parents not to leave this role to teachers. Take up your roles and make sure that men sit and talk to boys while women do the same for their girls. Let us not live in denial. There is a lot ... view
  • 5 Jul 2023 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I rise to ask the Teachers Service Commission the following Question. Could the Commission: (a) explain why Narok North Constituency has not been gazetted as a hardship area despite satisfying conditions to be designated as such? (b) enumerate efforts that have been instituted to ensure teachers deployed in the constituency benefit from hardship allowance? view

  • 29 Jun 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to support this Motion on setting aside funds to support peace operations of our troops that take care of our country from outside threats. They compete with the rest of the countries. It is important for us to have a Fund set aside for the sake of buying equipment for our troops. There is no way we can send them outside the country when they do not have the equipment to compete with other troops out of the country. We do not only need to look at our forces outside ... view
  • 6 Jun 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to the Auditor’s Report on NG-CDF. This Fund is really helping in our constituencies because it is used to do most of the work. Were it not for this Fund, some of our children could be studying under trees. But because of NG-CDF, they now have classrooms and are benefiting from bursaries. That is why I stand to support. NG-CDF has had an impact in all our constituencies. Through you, Hon. Speaker, I ask the National Treasury to release the funds. Some of the comments in the reports are ... view
  • 3 May 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you Hon. Temporary Speaker, for giving me an opportunity to add my voice to this amendment Bill by Hon. Didmus Barasa. I was seated here listening to professionals talk about health and other issues including the law which, to me, is not the issue, but the common person we represent in this House. I listened to the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Health saying that we have a Bill in place. I do not think it is proper for us to add another Bill to the existing one. We should look at the existing Bill to see what ... view
  • 3 May 2023 in National Assembly: capacity and will soon collapse. I do not know whether your constituencies are like mine, because referral hospitals will collapse soon. They lack medicine, are congested and if you go to the wards, you wonder what is happening. I think it is time Parliament looked at what is happening in the referral hospitals. I am not sure whether I support this Bill or not. Let us look at the policy in place and see how best it can serve our people. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker. view
  • 19 Apr 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to add my voice to the amendment Bill. I support the mover and thank him for thinking about our youth. The bodaboda sector is very important and it needs to be supported. Therefore, I support the NTSA (Amendment) Bill that introduces regulations that The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. • 19 Apr 2023 in National Assembly: will make sure that our youth are comfortable as they carry on with their activities because that is their only source of livelihood. These young people are our supporters; they vote for us. We need to make sure that they are comfortable when carrying out their work. It is important for NTSA to make sure that these young men are trained and have helmets to make sure that the rider and the passenger are safe. They should also be supported with shelter wherever they work. This is another form of employment. That is how they earn their living. Remember when ... view
