  • 12 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I like the sound of that. I think it is a worthwhile amendment supporting the Free Primary Education Programme by ensuring that there is money for the festivals. It is good because we know our parents have been suffering through paying for it constantly. There is an increase of Kshs75 million, but the Chair of the BAC has not told us where the money is coming from. So, I would like him to be clear. When you say you are increasing Kshs75 million to a Vote, you have to immediately let us know where ... view
  • 7 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I had wanted to contribute on the previous comments. I was curious about the numbering from 99 where it goes to 99(AA) and 99(BB). I was a bit curious why we are doing that as opposed to just continuing from 99 to 100 going forward. I had wanted to ask that. That is why I had put my card. view
  • 3 May 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for the opportunity. I found the front seats empty and I did not want to be lonely sitting there alone, so I had to join my colleagues. I want to take this opportunity to join my colleagues in thanking the President for a very elaborate Speech given to this House. Listening to him keenly yesterday, I realised that he really does have what it takes to lead this nation. I spent the last five years being one of the biggest critics, of course, because I was in the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) ... view
  • 3 May 2018 in National Assembly: benefit to the general public. That is a huge scandal. All of that money should have been recovered. There is goodwill, but I think there is a lot more effort that needs to be put in so that we can actually try and fight this vice. I was also happy that the President did mention that our connectivity to power from the national grid has increased tremendously from 27 per cent to the current 72 per cent, from the figures that he gave us. But I have reservation on that. Yes, it is true that connections have improved, but the ... view

  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. We are discussing water issues and the Hon. Member is talking about incestuous and funny relationships. Is it in order for her to digress? She is talking about men as if that man was with another man in that room. view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to support the Motion we are discussing by Hon. George Kariuki on management of rain water. I will be very brief because I know Members want to contribute. The Motion is extremely timely because it has come at a time when we are seeing chaos and destruction caused by the ongoing rains. Our roads have become impassable, bridges have been carried away every day and there The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposes only. Acertified version of this Report can be obtained from the ... view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: are landslides in Makueni where we saw over 100 homes buried. I wish the affected families all the best. view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: The responsibility of managing water, first and foremost as provide for in our Constitution lies with the county governments. I urge our Members of the County Assemblies (MCAs) to take up this Motion in all the countries and make them to Bills so that every county in Kenya can invest money to ensure that management of water during the rainy season is taken into consideration so that when there is drought we can also sort it out. In Kenya, there are complaints. When it rains, we say there is too much water and when there is no rain, we say ... view
