  • 25 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: At the time I asked the Question, I had been discharged from the Committee. However, last year, I had to seek the Speaker’s intervention and the Question was not answered. The people of Kenya and I need justice because the Question is very important. view
  • 25 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: I am not the Chair of the Departmental Committee on Energy neither am I Member of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning. I wanted to make a comment on that Statement, if you allow me. view
  • 4 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I am asking this Question for the second time because it was not responded to during the first time. I want to plead with you to ensure that the people of Kenya get justice through a proper response. Hon. Deputy Speaker. I would like to ask Question No. 071/2021 to the Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Planning: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain the status of the emergency liquidity facility created following the collapse of Imperial Bank and Chase Bank to bail out banks facing liquidity challenges and confirm whether the facility is still in existence ... view
  • 4 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also thank my Chair for donating a minute for me to say something. I support the BPS. There are several assumptions that have been made in the BPS. I agree with the assumptions, especially those touching on projected revenues. Since the creation of the COVID-19 by the Chinese, we have not been able to meet our revenue objectives even with the reforms that we have instituted ourselves in this House. Looking at the figures that have been given, I urge the House that these revenue figures are doable. view

  • 4 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, the projected revenues in this BPS are doable, and it can be done if this House is magnanimous enough to fund the KRA. The KRA, which is in charge of revenue collection, is quite underfunded in terms of infrastructure and staff. Given that we are going to have a serious expenditure pressure occasioned by the fact that we have so many programmes that we must implement this year, including the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), et cetera, it will be important for this House to allocate substantial resources to the KRA so that they are able to ... view
  • 4 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: With those remarks, I support the BPS. view
  • 4 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this Bill. From the word go, I commend my brother, Hon. Elisha Odhiambo of Gem, for coming up with this legislation. I have gone through this Bill, which is timely, and it is speaking to the heart of Kenyans. Before you begin to set up a telecommunication business, it needs to be mandatory that you must set up the infrastructure so that the services you want to offer meet the expectations of the people of Kenya. Unlike what most of my colleagues have alluded to, the ... view
  • 4 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: costing, there is no product within the space of the Banking Act which charges the interest rates that are here that Hon. Sankok has been speaking about. They do not exist. I think this is really the reason these services should be split so that if they are engaging in services that are similar to the banking services, then they must conform to the regulations that contained in the Banking Act. In this manner, Kenyans are going to benefit from the services and products. Therefore, the proposal to split is timely and we need to support it. Let us not ... view
  • 23 Feb 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. On my own behalf, on behalf of my family and on behalf of the people of Alego-Usonga, I convey my heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Hon. Francis Waititu and the people of Juja. We joined Parliament a bit late after the Majority side had joined because we were engaged in resistance. When I joined, I was trying to make friends and I found Hon. Waititu to be very friendly. He used to go for the Catholic mass every Tuesday in the morning. I also used to come very early. So, we could meet ... view
