On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. You have said that there should be no comments, but I thought your brothers who have been sitting there have made it a tradition that after a Senator reads out his or her Statement, then other Senators can also ride on it. You are now killing that tradition.

Yes, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. This idea of interdicting a teacher who basically has aired his opinion as a Kenyan and secondly, in the course of his performance as a representative of a worker, is the height of impunity on the part of whoever gave these orders for the teachers to be interdicted. the end of the day, these teachers are made to come out on the streets simply because they have been interdicted and an economic death has visited their home. Asante, Bw. Hali ya kutojua kesho itakuwa namna gani ilikuwa imetanda kote nchini. Hivi sasa, naona mambo mwafaka ambayo dada ameyaleta hapa na marekebisho mengi ili kuona taasisi yetu hii itakuwa ...

Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I have noticed something very interesting in the way we conduct our business. As much as I would not want to interfere when my colleague is talking, I think it is high time that the Speaker forcefully applied the Standing Orders. When one seeks a Statement under Standing Order 48(1), instead of others adding an addendum to that Statement and asking questions, they now turn it into debate. We are not debating here. That is why when you allow that kind of thing to take place, there is no one left on that side, because they ...
