3 Apr 2014 in National Assembly:
Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, you will remember that during the referendum on the current Constitution, there were those who were for “Yes” campaign and those who were for the “No” campaign. Both sides basically agreed that the Constitution needed to be rectified. So, the common denominator was rectifying the bad parts of the Constitution. Part of that bad part of the Constitution is what has caused us to have costly governance structures. Therefore, it is high time that we amended the Constitution and removed the areas that have turned out to be costly to our economy. On devolution, it is ...

But we also understand that we may need scientific investigations so as to come up with a comprehensive report. The Committee will require ample time, so that we can undergo the process. I beseech the Member to bear with the Committee.

27 Jun 2013 in National Assembly:
Thank you hon. Speaker, Sir. I want to also thank the Leader of Majority Party for that Statement. I want him to inform this House--- You know that drug trafficking is a serious crime. In fact, in many countries, it is punishable by the death penalty. Were those three suspects charged in a court of law in Kenya? If they were not charged in court, can he give us the reasons why they were deported without being charged in Kenya? We have a legal system which should also punish people who commit crimes.

Hon. Speaker, Sir, I thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to support the Motion. I want to tell hon. Members that we remain committed, so that we can cover a lot of business; we are expected to do so much since we were elected by our respective constituents. In fact, even when we go into recess, we are actually working. Members of Parliament do not rest. We work 24 hours, seven days a week. I want to thank the House Business Committee for coming up with this calendar, because first of all, this shows the whole world ...

3 Jan 2013 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to oppose this report. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is interesting to note that during this time and era some interview can be done in privacy in a boardroom, whereas we know that we are in a different era where the public needs to be involved. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have listened to the points that my colleagues have made and I do not wish to repeat them. I oppose the report for the basic reason that this interview was done in privacy and maybe due process was not undertaken.
