  • 20 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: I want to thank the Assistant Minister for promising that this road will be done in the next financial year, bearing in mind that Konza ICT City is a very important city; since Machakos Town and the ICT city are both in my constituency, the link will be very important for the growth of the two towns. I also want to thank the Assistant Minister for completing River Mwania Bridge, which was constructed after I asked a Question around three years ago. Thank you very much. Can I ask the Assistant Minister whether in the meantime he can do the ... view

  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Forestry and Wildlife whether the Ministry could consider launching afforestation programme of the Mua Hills in Machakos County which is rapidly losing vegetative cover due to human settlement. view
  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Minister for that answer but I wish to inform him that Mua Hills are actually the major water catchment hills supplying water to Maruba Dam and due to the deforestation in those hills a lot of silt has been taken to Maruba Dam such that even after the rehabilitation of Maruba Dam, there is a threat of it getting fully silted within another five years. Could his Ministry organize one week of afforestation programme in Mua Hills just before the rains start so that we can restore the forest which ... view
  • 6 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Minister for offering to visit the hills to see for himself and I want to invite him at the earliest possible time. Otherwise, could he assure the residents of Mua Hills community whether he can be able to supply them with seedlings so that they can be able to do afforestation on their own? view
  • 30 May 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. In fact, in the past Kenyans have lost lives when foreign embassies were bombed. There is loss of lives by Kenyans when a foreign embassy is targeted like the 1998 USA Embassy bombing. Has there been any ex-gratia payment and compensation to the victims and the relatives so far? view
  • 8 May 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I want to support my fellow Committee Member, Dr. Eseli, that this investigation is before the Committee and the hon. Minister is one of the witnesses. We have lined up several witnesses who have not attended the hearings. If we preempt this, it will undermine our investigations. So, I really beg that you allow the Committee of this House to undertake the investigations. view
  • 29 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, in fact, I had the privilege to accompany the Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Co-operatives on a tour of Ukambani to assess the situation of food insecurity. One of the major reasons why the people there are starving is that the Government gave them relief seeds which could not grow in that particular area. The seeds grew and never yielded any harvest. We got this information from the District Agricultural Officers, the public and the District Commissioners in that region. Despite having six weeks of rains which are usually enough for the right variety of seeds to ... view
