Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am not satisfied with that answer. The situation is so grave that the people of Ukambani are staring at death with their naked eyes. The Assistant Minister is not right to say that there is a small number of people who are relying on relief food. Machakos Town Constituency alone has 125,000 people who require relief food yet they get only 1,000 bags of maize per month. So, unless the Government wants people of Ukambani to die, you are in a better position to tell us.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister for that very good answer. However, I thought he would agree with me, and many Kenyans, that Kenyans are usually exposed to very rigorous processes when trying to acquire visas to many European countries and the USA. So, why are the visitors from such countries not also exposed to the same processes they expose Kenyans to when they decide to go to their countries?

asked the Minister for Water and Irrigation: (a) why the normal water supply to Machakos Town is no longer available, thereby causing the residents to experience a severe water shortage; and, (b) when the construction of Maruba Dam will be completed and what stopgap steps the Ministry has taken to restore the water supply to the residents as they await the completion of the dam.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I really want to thank the Minister for that very good answer, and for minding about the welfare of the residents of Machakos Town. However, since we anticipate a constant supply of water immediately the Maruba Dam is completed, I would like the Minister to tell us whether there are any plans to improve the sewer treatment and the sewer line in Machakos Town.
