  • 9 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, first, I want to thank the Government for supplying free seeds to the farmers. That is why we have realized a bumper harvest. However, in places like Ukambani where there is a bumper harvest, the area is prone to the larger grain borer which destroys the grains. What plans is he having so that he can supply pesticides to the farmers so that they can store their grains safely? view
  • 2 Dec 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I want to thank the Prime Minister for that Statement. Recently, some Kenyan leaders were labeled as anti-reformists by foreign countries. Is this part of a strategy to keep the momentum of reforms going on? What is the Government doing to ensure that the people who have been banned from travelling to foreign countries because of being anti-reformists do not curtail the reform agenda? view
  • 2 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Roads:- (a) why M/s H-Young Road Contractors have abandoned works at the Machakos town streets, Machakos-Kitui road (8 km portion) and Machakos- Kangundo road (5 km portion); and, (b) when the contractor will complete the works, considering the danger posed by the abandoned works to motorists and other road users? view

  • 2 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister for a very good answer. I want to confirm that the road work has actually started from Machakos Town to Kaseve. However, could he tell us when the Ministry intends to finish work on the section between Kaseve to Masii because the road is in a very deplorable state? view
  • 2 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is common practice that the Ministry is actually awarding tenders without having sufficient funds causing the contractors to abandon the works before they are complete. What will the Ministry do to stop this practice? view
  • 28 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also rise to support the allocation for the Ministry of Medical Services. view
  • 28 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: I wish to echo my colleagues’ view by saying that health funding is inadequate. The Government should be serious in whatever declarations it commits this country to in the region. The Abuja Declaration was signed almost eight years ago. But up to today, we are still allocating 5.4 per cent as budgetary support to the health sector. That is ten per cent less than what our country committed to do by signing the Abuja Declaration. So, I would like the Ministry of Finance to ensure that the health sector gets more funding. view
