  • 2 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. As I support this Motion, I feel that there are some gaps that we need to address and I wish to move the amendment as follows:- THAT, the Motion be amended by deleting all the words after the word “House” and inserting thereof the words “resolves that the Government should urgently review the farm gate price to Kshs45 per litre and review the price from time to time to reflect the cost of production”. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I wish to say that many Motions have been read in this House and many hon. ... view

  • 24 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I wish to support but first I hope I am in order to go back to my colleague who has just said that appointments should reflect the face of Kenya. I wish someone could clarify what the face of Kenya means because these positions only need two candidates. When there are two candidates and you have 42 tribes, so what is the face of Kenya? view
  • 18 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I will take the report and hand it over to the committee but I am not able to commit myself on timeframe because we need to deliberate on the issue of security at length. So, we can tell her on Tuesday how far we have gone. view
  • 18 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, by virtue of representing the Chairman three times, I am almost the Chair. I kindly request the Member to visit our Committee on Tuesday at 10.00 a.m. at Continental House because the matter is weighty and we may need more details. After that, we will deliberate on it. I urge the hon. Member to kindly join us at 10.00 a.m. on that date. view
  • 11 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, actually, it is the Constitution and I am referring to the Fourth Schedule. I am wondering why the hon. Member is claiming about the duplication of funds and yet, the work of the governor and the national Government is clearly stated in the Schedule. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, the Bill that is before the House does not speak about anything to do with duplication. So, with the indulgence of the Chair, could the hon. Member clarify what he means by duplication of funds? view

  • 5 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, as we speak of fertilizer not reaching some places in the country, I wish to confirm to this House that Nyandarua County, which can almost feed this country; does not even get the fertilizer, leave alone it reaching the town. So, this is a good Motion bearing in mind that agriculture is the backbone of our economy. Additionally, we know agriculture can create employment and, as per the Jubilee coalition’s manifesto, that can be resolved once and for all. I wish not to look at food security just like that. With food security in the country, education ... view
  • 5 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: through infrastructure and other sectors. The improvement of agriculture through the supply of fertilizer agenda, which Hon. Chris Wakhungu has brought to this House, will also be environmental friendly. I can foresee a situation where we can make organic fertilizer by converting the dump-sites like the one in Dandora where those youths will get employed--- view
