  • 17 May 2017 in National Assembly: country, the biggest scandal that the Jubilee Government will be remembered for, is not going to become the governor, and is not going to be given another chance to steal from our children. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I hope that this country will go towards the elections--- view

  • 16 May 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to apply my mind on this issue. As much as I would like to support this Motion, that we re-introduce the Bill, I have a contrary opinion. I would like to oppose the re-introduction of that Bill in this House. We need to come up with another Bill to solve the issue. The Bill we want to re-introduce faced a lot of resistance and that is why it did not pass. The issue of the two-thirds gender rule, as the Leader of the Majority Party has said, has been a thorn ... view

  • 16 May 2017 in National Assembly: women have been nominated to come to this House. That is what we should be doing; encouraging people to elect more women so that we can balance out. We should not come here to form ways of giving women seats because of the two-thirds gender rule. That principle should only apply when it comes to positions of appointment or nomination. With regard to elective positions, we should bring a Bill that seeks to remove or delete that part of the Constitution that talks about elected positions. If it needs a referendum, the Leader of the Majority Party should be telling ... view

  • 10 May 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me an opportunity to contribute to this amendment Bill. First of all, let me thank Kenyans for the peaceful nominations that we held. This Bill is very important because we are living at a time where a lot of brokers have come in to try to steal from the common mwananchi . It is good to have a clause that amends and criminalises brokerage without a licence. We need to encourage every Kenyan to take insurance because insurance is something that you save now for your future life, especially life insurance. People die. Today, ... view
  • 10 May 2017 in National Assembly: can know that they will face the law. My fellow Member of Parliament from Trans Nzoia has talked about the insurance of livestock and crops. That is what we need to avert what is happening with the drought situation and also during the rainy season. We are living in a country where people die when there is drought and when it rains. We need to come up with a solution so that we can find a way to save people’s lives. Finally, I will be coming back here as an independent candidate and I will be the chairman of independent ... view
  • 5 Apr 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I thank the Mover for donating his time to me. I would like to support this Bill. As a country, we should be going towards zero cheating in exams. That is where we should make sure that the integrity of our exams is very high, and there will be no child who will cheat. view
  • 5 Apr 2017 in National Assembly: The exams in this country have become a condemning issue for our students. It has become a chance for people to condemn others. Exams should not be used to condemn people, but to test the progress of students. As we dissolve this House and go to the 12th Parliament, we have not brought clear reforms in the education system. First of all, we should look at whether we need exams which enable us to get Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE). We are condemning our children as young as 12 years old. Right now, kids as young as 12 or ... view
