  • 29 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, these particular amendments are clarifying the meaning of the terms used in the Bill. The Act that we are amending does not contain provisions for e-medicine. The Departmental Committee Chair is trying to include e- health and e-medicine in the definitions as well as alternative medicine. As we all know, there is alternative medicine from China, Africa and elsewhere, in the form of herbal medicine. view
  • 16 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: I rise to support the amendment proposed by the Chairlady, especially because of management plans for forests, maintaining of a register of those natural plants and conservation of catchment areas so that people do not encroach. • 2 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: I rise to support this clause to reduce the size of the package to 50 kilogrammes. I come from a potato-growing area. If you look at the way brokers pack potatoes, you would think those sacks weigh 90 kilogrammes, but they actually weigh up to 150 kilogrammes. There are two bags in circulation called “soya bag” and “jubilee bag”. I also propose that we enact a law to compel factories to package maize, potatoes and everything else in 50 kilogramme bags. view

  • 17 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the nomination and appointment of Dr. Mwinzi. She is qualified as you can see from her curriculum vitae. She got Division I. She did a Masters in Communication and Technology and she also holds a PhD. Dr. Mwinzi is qualified for the job because when you look at her experience, for a long time, she has been working in the Ministry of Education as a Director. We believe when she is confirmed to the position of a PS, she is going to assist the country to push forward technical trainings ... view
