  • 23 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I want to take this opportunity to thank the Chair for a well answered question. I only have one clarification that I want to seek from her on the third issue. It normally takes 24 hours for a certificate to be recognized, if all the requirements have been met. I raised the question because there was a candidate who had all the requirements, but it took more than four months to get an equation. This is not true unless the Ministry has changed. view
  • 22 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, section 9 of the First Schedule be further amended by deleting the word “two” and inserting the word “one’ in place thereof. I want it to read as follows:- “The Cabinet Secretary may appoint an interim board to be known as the “interim---“ view
  • 22 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, the reason as to why I am proposing a reduction of the period from two years to one year is that an interim board for two years is too long. One year should be sufficient for the Authority to advertise and recruit members of the board competitively. view

  • 3 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to support the Motion for Adjournment. That is because we need the 10 days break so that we can meet with our constituents and agree on the projects for 2014/2015 Financial Year. That is because the Chairperson of the CDF Committee has tabled the figures for the 2014/2015 Financial Year this afternoon. By the time we come back, we will be ready to present and start work. Secondly, I have a suggestion for the Saba Saba rally that will be held on Monday. The reasons our colleagues are out ... view

  • 18 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I rise to join my colleagues to support this Motion. It is actually overdue. We want to reward our senior citizens who have served this country for a long time. I know what the former Prime Minister has done for this country. In 2008 after the post election violence, he sat down with the President and agreed on certain issues after which we came back to a peaceful country. We also know that the former Vice Presidents; the late hon. Wamalwa and hon. Kalonzo Musyoka need to be recognized. These are senior people that need to ... view
  • 18 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: As my colleagues have said, these are former Members of Parliament and we need to understand that we will one day join them. Most of the time politicians do not retire; it is people who retire us by force. What we need to do is to ensure that, after we leave this House, we live a decent life, a life like the one we live while in Parliament. I know most of us, before we came to this House lived decent lives. We lived comfortable lives; our families lived well. As soon as we were elected things changed. We no ... view
  • 30 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I rise to support the amendment brought by hon. Pkosing because in order for the Inspector-General to be independent, as discussed earlier, it is good for him to have the funds rather than having to go to the Principal Secretary for the Interior to source for funds for police operations. So, I beg to support. view
