  • 22 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, mass murder, possessing and misusing explosives are all serious crimes which should be condemned. However, the word “terrorism” is a bit subjective. Nelson Mandela was jailed for 27 years for leading a terrorist organization known as the African National Congress (ANC). Mzee Jomo Kenyatta was jailed for seven years for allegedly leading a terrorist organization known as the Mau Mau . So, one man’s freedom fighter is another man’s terrorist. We condemn mass murder, misuse of explosives and guns. The other day, during the referendum, there was a rally at Uhuru Park and somebody exploded a device ... view

  • 10 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, one of the former Ministers for Lands is on record as having stated that a title deed is just a piece of paper. The current Minister for Lands has been going around revoking people’s title deeds, knowing very well that he does not have those powers. How does the Assistant Minister expect wananchi to respect title deeds? view
  • 10 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the Assistant Minister to mislead the House that he has powers to declare land grabbed when we know that the law states that it is only the High Court of Kenya that can declare a title deed null and void? Where does he derive his powers from? view

  • 10 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I would like the Prime Minister to clarify one issue. A few months ago, he talked about Kenya going the nuclear way. There view
  • 3 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we have a similar project which is co- funded by the Constituencies Development Fund (CDF) and the REA at Bukunumbi Secondary School in Lamu. The poles have reached the school but we are told that the cables have been stolen from the contractor who had left them lying about by the roadside. Could the Minister undertake to look into this matter and ensure that the project is completed? view
