  • 17 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Sometimes it is good just to listen. I will not take a lot of time. view
  • 17 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I just wanted to inform hon. Chepkonga and it will not take a lot of his time and, in fact, it is very important. view
  • 17 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, in fact the amendment that hon. Chepkonga is bringing is very vital. But I have just thought about the same and I am suggesting that, instead of saying that they undertake, why can we not say that, they should be compelled to control water and also compensate, instead of saying that they should undertake. Let us have them compelled to do the control and compensation! That is the information I wanted to give to the hon. Member. view

  • 17 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Unfortunately, when the Chair was giving me a chance to raise a point of order, I was switched off and I have been sitting here desperately. But anyway, thank you. That is a very important Motion; going by the issues that have been raised previously on the same issue; matters to do with floods and disasters. It is very important that the issues that have been raised in that Motion should be taken seriously. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, there are no studies that have been done properly on many projects that are ... view
  • 16 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I think the petition by the hon. Member is important because we must have harmony in the country so that our youngsters are able to get education, wherever they are. I am also in the Committee on Education, Research and Technology. Therefore, I will pass over the information to the Chairman, so that the necessary action can be taken. Thank you, hon. Speaker. view
  • 4 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I was saying that the issue of Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is very paramount now. It is important that we have the body in place so that we are able to deal with the issues that are happening now and affecting the teaching fraternity. It is important that the three commissioners are appointed as soon as possible so that TSC is fully constituted in terms of quorum and is able to transact its business, including looking into the welfare of teachers and their recruitment. I support that aspect of the Report. There was also the issue ... view
  • 3 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I rise to support the Motion and congratulate the Mover for bringing it. I wanted to say that it is not only in Isiolo where we have disasters, but all over the country. Sometimes it is difficult to predict where it will happen. We have had floods in Nyando, Tana River, Budalangi and in many other places. We have had fires but the only thing that I would like to caution, from the experience that we have now, is that when we come up with an institution like this one, we should not create an institution for ... view
  • 3 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I also rise to support this Report on the same vein. Everything is clear now. view
