  • 5 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: I support the Motion and congratulate the Mover. I hope that we shall pass it, and have it implemented by the Government. view

  • 5 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to support this very important Motion. I want, first of all, to congratulate hon. Gitari for bringing this Motion to this House. For those of us who have been in this Parliament for some time, there have been attempts, even by Parliament, to have this issue addressed but it has not been attended to by the Government. A few years back when the machines at Kenyatta National Hospital were not working for quite some time, the only place where patients would be attended to was Uganda. So, we are ... view
  • 14 May 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the Motion as amended. In fact, I just want to start by helping my friend hon. Mbadi. The problem we are having is about the many commissions that we have established. We have established so many commissions. It was the same, same thing of thinking that we must cover every part of the country. But we ended up having so many commissioners who are now giving us a very big problem. That is what we were trying to fight for at that time. It was between PNU and ODM. But we ... view
  • 14 May 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, we have experimented on numbers in this country. We know what we are going through because of bloated numbers. If there is anything to be corrected, we cannot continue with the same. We want this Assembly to be a National Assembly. We want the Cabinet to be a Cabinet of Kenya and not a Cabinet of Luhyias, Luos or Kisiis. We want the Cabinet to practise the principle of collective responsibility. We want Cabinet to have the image of the whole country. They need to come together so that we work as one country. We are telling ... view
  • 30 Apr 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I also rise to support the Procedural Motion. We want the time for publication to be reduced, so that we can clear the air about what has been going. The President should convene a meeting with the Governors to explain to them that he means it when he talks about county governments. view
  • 30 Apr 2013 in National Assembly: I would like to support that we fast-track the publishing of this Bill. view
  • 25 Apr 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, I also rise to support this Motion. The new Constitution gave many responsibilities to all of us as a country including increasing the representation in the country. Although up to now I understand that some of the areas are not adequately represented, we should do what we can, including allowing representation by women and so on now. Because of that we should also prepare to accommodate it. view
  • 25 Apr 2013 in National Assembly: I thought that the Chairman or the Committee would have also considered ( Technical hitch) to 22 Ministries. When I compare what is in the Standing Orders with what has been coming out, I also thought of the fact that they should have thought of splitting these Departmental Committees. However, because we do not have time, that view
  • 24 Apr 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also rise to support. The points raised about the membership of these committees, some of us are in parties and we have not seen membership of our parties. For example, a party like the United Democratic Forum (UDF) is not appearing anywhere in this Committee. view
