  • 1 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I am really seeking your guidance on this matter because one of the reasons why we ask Questions is for the Back Bench to get information from the Government which, in most cases, is not willing to give without being prompted. I am getting concerned because the pricing of sugar-cane is so critical to the people who grow sugar-cane in western Kenya. I would want to know whether it would be--- view

  • 6 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise on a point of order to seek your guidance and direction especially with regard to the provisions of Standing Order No.40. Today being a Wednesday, the Statement that the Prime Minister is likely to be making in this House is one that has raised some excitement among the hon. Members. He wants to talk about a looming La Nina, and that means hunger for this country. We are really waiting to hear what the Prime Minister has to tell this House. I wonder, if we proceed that way ... view
  • 6 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to congratulate the Deputy Prime Minister for having brought out very clearly the measures that the Government is putting in place to control this phenomenon. However, in my understanding of La Nina, this long dry spell means the water levels in Kindaruma, Kiambere and all the major power producing stations are going down, and this means the cost of power is likely to rise because there would not be enough water to produce electricity. With the high cost of power, the cost of essential commodities would go up. I would like to hear the specific ... view
  • 1 Sep 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the issue of inordinate delays in the issuance of title deeds by the Ministry of lands is not a new phenomenon. Maybe it would be of interest to know from the Assistant Minister what is the approximate time in which a Kenyan should wait for issuance of titles after the adjudication has been done and the maps have been submitted to the Director of Survey so that we do not permanently wait without knowing when we are likely to get them because this is happening, including in my constituency. view
  • 12 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. KPCU was once a very giant union that served very small farmers in this country. At this time of receivership, five coffee co- operative societies from Igembe are bound to lose money in the event that KPCU does not get back to its feet. Does the Minister have any intention to use the powers bestowed upon him to make sure that those wealthy politicians or wealthy Kenyans that owe KPCU money repay that money so that---? view
  • 12 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Is he willing to make sure that the money owed to KPCU by wealthy Kenyans is paid back so that KPCU can meet its financial obligations? view
  • 12 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order Mr. Speaker, Sir. Since the Minister has still confirmed that KPCU is owed and owes, then I would kindly request him to table a list of both the creditors and the debtors of KPCU for purposes of clarity so that we can be able to interrogate that matter further. view
  • 22 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, many times the police have taken law into their own hands. They harass people who are perceived to be criminals, indeed, when they are not. view
