Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, in this matter, if I got the Assistant Minister right, the matter was withdrawn because they were still pursuing certain evidence. Why did the police charge somebody before collecting enough evidence that could have enabled them prosecute the matter to completion?

Mr. Speaker, Sir, as I congratulate the Assistant Minister for that nice answer. Since we have had foreign missions or countries give plenty of support to this country with certain conditions, could he tell us whether the support from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the mosque in Vihiga is pegged to any conditions?

Mr. Speaker, Sir, for the benefit of the Assistant Minister; I said that certain counties have pledged support to this country with conditions. I would like to know whether the Islamic Republic of Iran has any conditions attached to the support of the mosque in Vihiga.

Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I really appreciate the Prime Ministerâs comment and stress that the Constitution is for the people of Kenya. This country is composed of communities so that there are no misrepresentations during the âYesâ and âNoâ campaigns. This will ensure that each Kenyan is able to understand the contents of this Constitution so that it is voted by Kenyans that are well informed. Does the Prime Minister or the Government have any intention, bearing in mind the countryâs population which can be able to read Kiswahili and English and understand is not beyond 30 per ...

Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I am really honourable and would not want to mislead this House. I will be giving you a copy of the signed request to the Speaker. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance with regard to the privatization of the National Bank of Kenya (NBK). I would want him to clarify to this House what informed the Cabinet decision to privatize the NBK. Secondly, I would like him to tell us what is the ratio of the shareholding of the NBK ...

On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister has clearly indicated that no classroom should be built with an amount of money in excess of Kshs500,000. What hon. Mwathi has raised is very important because depending on the land or the kind of typography where the classroom is supposed to be built, the structure becomes very important. Again, there was an allegation that a meeting took place at KIE where directions were given that each classroom should be done at a cost of Kshs1.5 million. Many principals attended that meeting. So, it is true. Is he in ...

Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to second this amendment, the reason being that Kenya is, and shall continue to be, a capitalist state. We cannot limit peopleâs abilities. Today we are in a generation where most of us are buying land. We cannot allow a situation whereby if I want to buy as much land as possible, because I have something to do on that land, I cannot be allowed. If the problem is under-utilisation of land, we should be thinking of how we can introduce land taxes for purposes of making sure that idle land is used. ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the whole idea behind the economic stimulus package was to stimulate the economy for faster growth. In view of that, I want the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance to tell us whether, in his view, the whole package has been able to achieve its intended purpose.
