Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for giving me this chance. I rise to second this Motion by my good friend, Sen. Omogeni, on the establishment of infrastructure needs of selected county governments. Madam Temporary Speaker, some of the counties in Kenya are lucky to find themselves where they are today. An example is the counties of Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu, which found themselves in the cities of Kenya. It is unfortunate to get some of the counties as they are today. One of the counties that are less privileged is the county that I come from, that si Tana ...

Madam Temporary Speaker, as we speak, Tana River County, the county that I come from has started some infrastructural development outside Hola Town, which is the headquarters. I travelled to some of the counties and found that there is a big margin compared to where I come from. Therefore, this Motion comes at a time when we need to develop these counties. Madam Temporary Speaker, I support my good friend for bringing this Motion.

The speech was interesting. The President talked of the achievements and activities that the Government has undertaken. However, the achievements are threatened by corruption and that is not good for us. Corruption has impoverished Government and the private sectors. Therefore, we need to rally behind the Government and our beloved President in the fight against corruption. We are undergoing a long spell of drought which has made nomadic people to move from one place to the other in search of water and pasture. I was in Marsabit two days ago together with the Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. People ...

Asante Bi.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to add my voice. I rise to support this important Motion. We have no doubt on the proposed names. These are persons of high calibre and will work diligently. This time round, things will not be as usual. Very important issues will be discussed such as the referendum, oversight and sitting outside Nairobi. Therefore, it requires a committee to sit and deliberate on the issues before they are brought to the House. We have no doubt that these people will work diligently.
