It is about the constitution of Teachers Service Commission. Given the gravity of the matter, now that a national strike is on today, I am yet to receive a substantive statement.   • 5 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: Pursuant to Standing Order 44(2)(c) I wish to request for a statement from the chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs regarding the challenges facing membership of the Teachers Service Commission. Hon. Deputy Speaker, TSC advertised to fill vacancies in its membership in September 2012. Consequently, 11 candidates for the position of member of Commission and five for chairperson were shortlisted and interviewed in October 2012. Thereafter, the selection panel forwarded five candidates for the Commission’s position and three candidates for chairperson to the principals, for onward submission to Parliament for consideration and approval.
