  • 30 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has insisted in this House that this base commander was transferred to Migori as a normal transfer. Can he confirm or deny to this House that the people of Oyugis rioted against this base commander before he was transferred to Migori? view
  • 3 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we have two entities giving us power in this country, that is, the REA and the KPLC. Is the Minister aware that the projects undertaken by the KPLC are usually completed as compared to the ones undertaken by REA for reasons which we do not know? view
  • 3 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is the Minister in order to mislead this House? The projects undertaken by the KPLC, when the funds are directed to KPLC, are solely done by KPLC. The ones where the two actually come together is when the actual connection is now done by the KPLC at the end. Is he in order to mislead the House? view
  • 3 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, you heard the Assistant Minister say here that this teacher was not given his salary because he was on interdiction. As far as I am concerned, when someone is on interdiction he gets a half salary. Could he clarify that? view
  • 3 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister has said that they have elaborate plans to help people during such disasters, but, as I speak, there are bodies in Lake Victoria, which have not been retrieved. So, what elaborate plans was he talking about? view
  • 3 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, while I appreciate that the Assistant Minister is taking a lot of interest in his work and he is doing it very well, I was in the stadium on that day. I think I was with hon. Eugene Wamalwa. There have been conflicting statements from the Assistant Minister and from the FKL. Is it in order for the Assistant Minister to give us a statement here without telling Kenyans and especially the fans that his decision here is final and that the other people will not dispute it so that on ... view
  • 27 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance is talking about consultations but this is a very important issue for the people of Nyatike. Could he give us a timeline within which he expects the consultations to have ended so that he can give an answer to the hon. Member asking this Question? view
  • 26 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Water and Irrigation:- (a) to provide details of the successfully drilled water boreholes and dams rehabilitated by the Ministry in Migori constituency since January 2008; and, (b) whether she could explain why Godkweru, Giribe, Mubachi dams; Mosara Secondary School and Godjajuok boreholes have not been constructed despite Government’s commitment to construct them. view
  • 26 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I would like to thank the Minister for the answer she has given to the House this afternoon. But coming from Migori, I want to question the source of the information the Minister is giving to this House because most of these water projects mentioned here are coming from the lower part of Migori where there are always a lot of problems during drought. Some ladies or women, for that matter, have to travel seven kilometers for them to get water for their domestic use. This Godkweru Dam, which the Minister says is ... view
  • 26 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. When you talk about dams, I do not think the idea was getting the source of the water. You are supposed to dig dams and capture water during the rainy season, and this is the case with Godkweru that I am talking about. view
