Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Vice Chairperson has referred to serious stern steps to be taken at certain stages but the Senator wants an answer. I think this is the point of taking these serious steps. According to her, she wants to move it forward, but up to when? Sen. (Prof.) Lonyangapuo wants answers to the questions he raised. So, let the steps be taken now not on another day.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, on a point of order. This is the third time now that we are postponing this response. The issue here concerns a person who is locked in a foreign country and the family here really needs to know whether they can hire a lawyer to help him in the legal process. The delay is causing a lot of anxiety. It is my wish that the response is given tomorrow and I will ask for the indulgence of the Chair. However, if it is not there, commit the Committee through the Senate for the Cabinet Secretary of Interior and ...

On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Before we go to the next statement, I had communicated with the Chair himself and he had informed me that the Statement is not ready. If you wanted to inform the Chair, you would still have done so privately. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The killing of innocent Kenyans in this country is becoming unbearable. When I listened to the Statement from the Vice Chairperson, I realized that those who killed have not been arrested and that there is no compensation to be paid to the families of the victims. If it is true that an innocent Kenyan can be killed by the law enforcers, the killers are not arrested and no compensation is paid, what will happen to our lives in this country? Recently, there was commotion of people trying to grab bananas when the Deputy President was ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, when I stood, I wanted to inform you that the Vice-Chairperson communicated to me and gave me a copy of the letter that was written to say that the answer would come in two weeks’ time. Looking at the urgency of the matter, my kind request is that it should be here at least by next week. If you look at the contents of the issues that I have raised and what has happened, the person and his family are suffering and the whole society is in total confusion.

Mr. Temporary Chairperson, Sir, it should be noted that Sen. Madzayo is getting agitated because as a former and retired judge, he is used to giving rulings the way the Chair gave and there should be no more comments after the ruling. The person who has to be hanged is hanged and that is all. He should be given that benefit of the doubt and be understood to have received the orders of the Chair.
